Truth of the matter is... when I have older family members who never play games and are all of a sudden inquiring about buying Kinect (which is happening), it spells doom for Xbox gamers.
Depending on how much profit they really make, the stink of the Wii can no doubt attach itself to the Xbox brand. In the end it's all about $$$.
Hopefully, I am completely wrong and they show otherwise @ E3.
Microsoft doesn't give a shit. They will heavily promote and sell a ton of Modern Warfare 3 or whatever the next COD is on their box. That to them is pleasing the core gamer.
At least that's according to an episode of the bonus round on Gametrailers.
I don't think open world would've worked with this game.
Do you really want to walk through and endless pine forest getting lost with constantly respawning "Taken" coming after you? No thanks.
The story would never progress. I think Remedy made the right decision and made an excellent game that sadly got overlooked.
At first I didn't think so and after a couple of hours of gameplay, I still don't. It indeed looks great, but it hasn't wowed me graphically like when I first booted up God of War 3 or Killzone 2.
I think the pedigree of the original Crysis has given them an automatic pass in the "best graphics" dept. Like I said though, it does look incredibly good and is fun to play to boot.
Would be very happy to see this come to the PS3. Doubt it'll ever happen, but this and Reach are the only games I miss after ditching the 360.
Started the PS3 version last night. Looks great, but not "mindblowing" or the "best looking game on console". There are some framerate inconsistencies as well but overall I think it's quite fun thus far.
Hopefully the cover system will be a bit more fluid. My only gripe with RDR's gameplay was that it could be a bit clunky at times.
Before patch, no lag. After patch, everything lags.
Not cool. GG will take care of this though so no worries here.
Agree. Having to get that close to revive left you pretty much like a sitting duck most of the time.
Gotta go with Yakuza 4 over here. Dragon Age 2 demo didn't really do it for me.
It may not be dead... but it certainly is terrible.
Fugly mantastic meathead juggernaut boxart. Seriously though, I've never been a fan of the fact that the characters legs are like a horrible case of elephant man syndrom.
Game should be fun however... just sayin'.
@ Raven.
Yeah, an excellent pop out cover system is nothing new for a FPS. Neither is adding several lobby playlists into a single 30 minute match ala Warzone.
Started the campaign yesterday and about half way through... though it's definitely not "masterful" storytelling by any means, the game is just simply leaps and bounds above the shooter competition.
Better gunplay, tougher enemies, fluid/satisfying controls, superb sound, vehicles, on rails, best console FPS visuals. I'm sorry but I sold my 360 a month ago and don't miss the other shooters one bit.
I preferred KZ2 over most of the comp ...
Damn. 6 disagrees already?? Someone must really be lookin' forward to this thing. Looks pretty average.
I can understand what most folks mean when they say that it looks and feels outdated.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why I dig the game so much... aside from it's incredibly good story and characters.
There's a total sense of badassery going on in the Yakuza games, not to mention plain ridiculous fun and endless amounts of things to do.
I'll take this "outdated" game over most of the modern rehashed crap anyday.
Don't need a demo however, day 1 buy.
Well after getting rid of my 360 this is the only game that made me hang on to the system as long as I did.
Once Mass Effect 2 came over, I was done. Alan Wake was/is a great game and if it ever came to the PS3 it would be a re-buy in a second. Fat chance of that happening though. Here's to hoping that a sequel goes multiplat.
Definitely far too underrated.
So, since Bethesda is doing this is it safe to say that the game will launch with a bunch of terrible gamebreaking bugs ala Fallout?
Yes, the system kicks ass.
If you're a fan of incoming shovelware catered to 8-12 year olds.
Us adults will keep an eye out on the NGP.
