I'm a HUGE Hitman fan - probably my favorite franchise, but I'm even skeptical of this. I'll likely not buy into it Day One as I had planned, but sit back and see what kind of response it garners. Otherwise, I'll wait for the full disc release later this year before the holidays and maybe even get a huge Black Friday discount.
Say something that opposes what everyone else thinks..
Achievement Unlocked: Click-bait!
I'm pretty sure Sony has all that stuff divided up into their own departments. So, it doesn't matter how many TVs or computers or robots they have out there, the gaming department is only dealing with the PS4, Vita and now the PSVR.
I bought The Order during the holiday sales for $10. Worth every penny.
Those girls on Chaturbate make more than that.
@bruce755 I said watching a game isn't the same as playing a game. Thanks for paying attention. I don't think test driving a car compares to test playing a video game. That's comparing something minimal to an extreme, which is something people often do to get their point across more. I mean, you are comparing "playing" to "driving", which in my experience, don't mix well. So, if you try comparing "playing" with something that actually involv...
Nah. Only the hardcores will pay high dollar for this.. and when I say high dollar, I mean anything over $250. Even then, I question rather the casuals will even go that high. This thing is going to bomb hard.
Keep it, Sony.
I think Twitch and YouTube has eliminated the need, trouble, time and money of putting together a demo. Those games allow viewers to see live gameplay of almost any game you would be interested in. No, it's not the same as playing the game yourself, but it provides more than enough visual/audio info for an interested gamer in deciding rather or not a game might be something he/she wants to play.
And then you have those who just flat out can't afford to buy games, so piracy is their only option. You eliminate that option, those people will just find a new passion - maybe go outside?
TBH, I think the future of gaming will be based on what they are already doing - microtransactions. So, you want your game out there, people playing it, so they will keep putting money into it. A person might not be able to afford a $60 game, but a $5 purchase here and there, now an...
New security is always thought up of and then someone comes along and figures out a way around it. It happens every time, so I can't see putting a timeline on WHEN publishers are finally going to win the piracy battle. If one hacker wouldn't be able to get the job done, then someone else better will.
Still looks like a bargain bin game to me. The 'Far Cry' name might help, but I'll be amazed if it sells well.
How could anyone possibly know or even study how people would have spoke 7000 years ago? Even if you based it on the environment at the time - if that would even come into play, you would still not know the words they used and for what they were used for. It's not like there are any actual recordings in existence of these people speaking, unless someone invented a time machine without us knowing about it.
I don't think EA wants to burn a potential BILLION DOLLAR franchise down with the first game out of the gate.. and I'm sure they are well aware about the complaints. Some exec is probably thinking we'll all shut up about it when the DLC comes out and then buy the next game just as we did this one... and he's probably right. The only way we, as gamers, are going to change that is to sacrifice the pleasure of having/playing the game and the chances of enough gamers doing that ...
Competition is fierce during the holiday season. That's why you see the big discounts and why, not just Star Wars BF, but many other major releases saw sharp price drops. It really has nothing to do with the title being a flop - it's more about preventing the title from flopping. They saved a lot of money developing the game by NOT including a lot of content and they expect to bring in a lot more money on season pass sales (and people WILL buy the season pass still - die hards, esp...
READING graphic novels? I have nothing against graphic novels, but you're on the wrong website, buddy.
He's an actor. Do you think the actors on The Walking Dead ever faced zombies before? As long as the script is good, the director knows what he's doing and they nail the cinematography, I think the movie has potential, but I wouldn't have high expectations.
Apparently. Somebody is paying him to say stuff.
I don't think I'm going to see a Nazi's butt pimples if he's in full uniform while I'm gunning him down and his guts explode everywhere. In most games - not all, but most - characters are fully clothed.
As for the kill feeling like real life - I'm sure the military wants exactly that kind of game to train our troops and those games eventually make their way into the hands of foul mouthed, 14 year old, Call Of Duty hot shots.
All these people who say it's not over-priced seem to miss the point. You can cover it in 18-karat gold and diamonds and say it's worth $100K.. that doesn't put $100K in a gamer's pocket to buy the thing. $600 is a LOT of money to your average person and electricity, water and other expenses take priority over having a $600 video game.
