I read an article somewhere - I don't remember where, that said that Scorpio is more powerful, but the main reason for this is that it is rumored to support either Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, which use dual screens. The PSVR uses one screen. So, from what I got from that article, is that while Scorpio is more powerful, it needs that extra boost to support that additional screen. Otherwise, despite Neo being weaker on paper, there won't be too much of a difference. But I'm no tech...

I just don't see this happening. PlayStation's focus is establishing it's PSVR this year and with only 6 months left in the year, if Neo was going to be released this year, I think Sony would have said something about it at E3; especially considering some of the games they showed will not even release until early next year. I'm no industry insider - it may happen this year, but it would be a shock to me if it does. I see it releasing in late 2017.

A year from now, people will be asking you if you should buy Scorpio and you'll see just as many comments as you do here now saying "yes". I say just wait. If you already have an Xbox One - just play that, or do something really crazy and spend that money on a PS4 if you don't already have one and pick up the exclusives you've missed out on (for cheap) and play them while you wait for Scorpio.

I actually like Phil Spencer. He's a dream compared to Don Mattrick, but I think somebody is spiking whatever the CEOs are drinking over at Xbox.

Could something else have been going on keeping people away? Or maybe it's just the title - "Days Gone" doesn't exactly blow my mind or is even that memorable. I thought what I saw of the game looked great and I'm excited to play it, so I'm sure there is a bigger factor as to why it didn't draw a crowd.

I don't blame you. I'm not a MP guy either. I'll play every once in awhile, but I generally game to get away from people that annoy me - I don't need to game and have some kid telling me they were with my mom lastnight, too.

The demonstration they had at the conference didn't impress me at all. The graphics looked last gen and the people they had playing it were just annoying and seemed high on drugs.

It's a bandwagon thing. Ignore the hate, play the games you like, watch the movies and shows you like, do the things you like.

@BossBattle, I think Sony has a huge advantage over Microsoft. I truly believe Scorpio's purpose will be to support the Oculus Rift and if that's the case, Microsoft expects gamers to fork out big money for the Scorpio, as well as the Oculus Rift. In the meantime, Sony has already established a huge install base with it's PS4, which is already set to support it's PSVR. So the only thing gamers have to worry about, is forking out $400 for a PSVR. Neo will likely just boost ...

Microsoft wouldn't release something as powerful as Scorpio without a purpose. Otherwise, they would just wait a few years and release it as "next gen". I suspect the rumors of them teaming up with Facebook to bring Oculus Rift to the system to be true, which is going to be a really hefty price tag. Question is, are people going to be willing to pay it?

Especially if the rumors are true about a potential Scorpio and Oculus Rift team up, which I would imagine is going to cost gamers a gold mine. IF that happens, I would be surprised if it's less than $999.

@ricosuave
Timing is everything, and Sony had more than enough to fill their hour. Discussing NEO would have been extra icing on an already delicious cake. Sony wanted their E3 to be about the games already supported by it's current model of PS4 and it's new PSVR technology. It proved it didn't need NEO to be the talk of E3, but it will later, especially closer to the launch of Scorpio.

Not if it included a Duck Hunt VR game. God, I miss that stupid dog.

I think Sony had that audience dumbfounded by all the awesomeness going on. I don't care if you're a "fanboy" of any kind, you have to give props to Sony on that conference. They let the games do the talking and the games talked a BIG game. I'm so hyped for PSVR right now and so many games - some I had never even heard of until tonight.

Pretty much. 3rd party developers are not going to downgrade their games so they'll work on a weaker system and they're not going to leave out an already established install base, which means they probably won't bother even trying to take advantage of Scorpio's power. I think Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot with this. IF you look back at the PS3 and Xbox 360, the PS3 was more powerful, but it's 3rd party games were on par with the Xbox 360 versions. Only t...

Well, they mentioned it and some of it's specs. Thinking about it, I really didn't care much for Microsoft's presentation. I'm a big fan of the Gears Of War and Dead Rising series, but neither of those games looked like too big of an upgrade to be the first "true" games of those series on this generation of consoles; especially this far into this generation. The play on Xbox One and/or Windows 10 thing was nice, which tells me Microsoft is serious about grabbing h...

This looks like a sit back and see what happens scenario to me. Will this turn PC gamers into console gamers or will the console gamers move over to PC? I don't think anybody really knows the answer to that, including Microsoft, and I don't think it really matters which direction it goes. If people embrace the console side more than the PC, then Microsoft knows to go in that direction. If it's the other way and people play on PC, then Microsoft will go that way. It's a wi...
