I might not have WORDED my comment in the best possible way (ie in a way sensitive N4G users could comprehend and not misinterpret).
Point remains that Crysis 2 has the potential to sell much... Why bother finishing that sentence? The numbers will speak for themselves soon enough. 3 mil on PC? Yeah, going multiplat will definitely increase that.
(Edit: BTW, relative means in relation to, or comparison to. As in: PC-exclusive Crysis 2 would sell RELATIVELY poo...
I think the demo probably helped a lot too.
The demo for the first game threw you right into the deep-end. With very little instruction, you were placed at a point in the story where enemies come at you from all sides, in a tightly cluttered environment, and you have to wrap your head around the new notion that you have to shoot their limbs off rather than their heads. Uh... Even for a seasoned FPS player like me, it wasn't fun! I got around to buying DS years later, and ...
Suuuure... Crytek could either have developed it for:
-PC only; would have looked incredible, but been too intense for most PCs to run, again, and would have sold relatively poorly.
OR:
-PC and consoles: make a great looking game, sell a CRAP ton of copies, make mounds of profit which will help the company expand and develop even more games.
You're right... probably better that they'd kept it PC exclusive.
I'm not interested in Halo or Alan Wake to begin with (I wasn't interested in ME2 either before or after they ported it, and lol at Gears), and there's already way too many games I'm interested in on PS3 this year for me to justify the cost of buying a 360 on top of the games, let alone find the time to play them. I've got my eye on 20 games on PS3 this year alone, so forget about any other console.
Beats the hell out of me why people are still buying 360s...
Exactly. I said it first: it will be between 1-500$, and you can quote me on that.
Obviously Duke Nukem is going to be GOTY.
Jokes aside! there will be many worthy contenders this year: Dead Space 2, Killzone 3, Brink, Portal 2, Rage, Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Last Guardian, Dark Souls, etc.
Those are just out of the games I'm personally interested in (is ME3 this year?). Some of them may look out of place on that list (Brink, Rage) but they could surprise us once they're released.
I'm really liking the story.
You answered your own question with the answer I was going to give you! My guess: the second one.
@Digital
I never played Bully. :(
Haha, I was dead-set on getting a PS3 at launch, so about 6 months before that I stopped buying anything for my PS2. Missed out on a few games. I doubt I'll ever re-visit them though--there's just too many great games coming out on PS3 now for me to take time to play a PS2 game.
It didn't so much die as was *abandoned* by M$. They killed it themselves as soon as the 360 launched to try and push people to get their new console.
But I'm sure taking BC out of new PS3 SKUs is helping the PS2 to keep selling. That's why I thought they made that decision to begin with (not, as idiots claim, "to re-make the games in HD and sell them to you again").
lolol YES that is exactly what University was like. People slapping 5 fancy words together to try and sound smart, without realizing their 5 words failed to make any sort of point, let alone a complete sentence!
I can't figure out whether you're trolling, pessimistic, or in denial... There is absolutely ZERO doubt in my mind that the NGP will outsell the PSP. The only question is "how long will it take".
Well they already got my sale, so that's potentially one more than the PSP's global sales!
As the writer of this piece, you need to learn the definition or "unearthed".
And what "landscape of discussion" are you referring to?? You need to stop trying to use vocabulary that's clearly above your head, because you're not making any sense.
@FooL
Yup, that part of the video might have been funny, if it wasn't pure hypocrisy. In Bulletstorm every time you sling a guy with your **auto-aim whip** he flies in the air and floats there, in slo-mo, to make it easy for you to hit him.
Bulletstorm takes so much skill. /s I facepalm every time I see the word "skill" associated with that game (especially in their "skillisode" videos).
I'm not a fan of CoD, but f...
But who buys UMD movies anyway?! That's what Memory Sticks are for.
You're bashing... GT4? Yeah, you fail troll.
Why's it always fucking Ryu?
I haven't played the second yet, but the first got *really* easy once you figured out there were never more than 4 enemies or so attacking you at one time! Once you were capable of taking that few on at once easily (freeze them, take out their legs, etc), the game wasn't very challenging anymore (as long as you stayed focused--there were some tricky parts!).
