Personally, reviews have absolutely no effect whether or not I'll buy a game. Hell, most of the reviews I ever watch are of games I already bought! I watch them a few days later (you know, you just bought a new game, play it like crazy for a few days--everyone does it!) just for kicks, see if the reviewer feels the same way I do.

There is no **need** for auto-aim in console FPS games. Devs just add it to make their games more noob-friendly, thus appealing to the masses, thus sell more (ie: CoD).
I won't argue with you that M&KB is superior though, that's obvious. But dual analog isn't bad to the point of necessitating aim-assist. I prefer by far when there isn't any aim-assist at all, in fact, but I've had a lot more practice with dual-analog than your average player! ;)

For me, it's both. I used to try and get most of my games to 100% before there were trophies to show for it, but now the trophies have also made it somewhat of a chore.
For instance, I bought Crash 2 off the PSN (for the nostalgia! :)) and even though there's no trophy for PS1 classics, I completed it to 100%. But other games I'll force myself to complete just to get the platinum, and it does take some of the fun out of them.
