@Gloomy:
People who didn't get launch PS3 SKUs missed out on backwards-compatibility. Just saying...
(Although I did have one of those, and it went and got the YLoD on me! :( So you're not entirely wrong.)
Sure, like Sony rushed the PS3... No wait, they released it when they were good and ready--a full year after their biggest competitor, no less.
THESE ARTICLES ARE GETTING DUMBER AND DUMBER.
Who's approving these moronic wastes of internet space?
@inveni0:
I know what you mean. To be perfectly honest, it's been a while since I've watched an LA Noire trailer, but the last time I saw the facial animations I found them more creepy than impressive.
To me, it's because the graphical quality of the faces (textures, and whatever else it is) isn't on-par with the animation quality. The great animations coupled with sub-par graphics is just creepy.
Yup. The thing about these action-oriented horror games these days is that, once you're good enough at shooters, the confidence in knowing you can easily take on whatever the game throws at you takes all the fear out of the experience.
Like everyone is saying, I loved Dead Space (was actually surprised how good it was), but the emphasis on action made it too easy and took out all the suspense.
Just watched Rubber Johnny--alone, in the dark, with headphones on loud. Forgot to put it in full screen though... Probably for the best! Not sure I'd still be able to type a coherent sentence if I'd watched it full screen, alone, in the dark, with headphones on loud.
Sure, that's your opinion, but there's only a very slim portion of the gamer community who thinks like you. I won't argue against your point, but you obviously didn't even try to see mine: PCs are becoming more popular now than they were in the past years because people are migrating to them from their outdated consoles. Once the new gen of consoles comes around, these people will go back to them and PC gaming'll return to the state it was when this console gen was release...
Link saved, for future reference (read: shutting trolls up).
What a silly question... Both, of course!
I did my first InFamous playthrough on Good, because I figured that difficulty would make it more manageable not to kill too many pedestrians and blow too much shit up! Did my Hard playthrough on Evil that way collateral damage was actually a good thing, and it allowed me to focus on the enemies rather than not killing moronic NPCs.
Also... You'll probably need to do both for the Platinum again anyways!
We haven't seen Starhawk yet, but based on my experience with Warhawk I'm sure it'll be awesome. My point: TM and Starhawk are both going to kick ass! TM looks like a helluva lot of fun.
I don't see how it could help.
In my opinion, the only reason PCs are becoming popular again is precisely because console hardware is getting old by now. But when the next console gen rolls around, it'll definitely rival computer tech (as far as games are concerned--I have 0 doubt that you'll always be able to make a PC to dwarf any console no matter how new, but no dev is going to make a game for that monster-PC alone).
Hell, I'm seriously lo...
Agreed. It's pure fear-mongering and misinformation. Journalists with 0 integrity bending the truth to make sensationalist news.
Just read the headline: the data published isn't even from the PSN hack. But the way they say it, makes it sound like 70 million credit card numbers were published, when that's not the truth at all.
But not as funny as these: http://moviestinger.com/the...
@Lauren:
Not trolling, but the 360 version has 3 discs. That might factor into your console decision... or not. Just throwing it out there.

@koh08:
I've been working in Shanghai for the past 3 months, and believe me, creativity is not these people's forte.
@Wenis:
The average income for Americans is NOT 60,000$! You're overestimating that quite a bit. According to the CIA World Factbook, the US's GDP per capita is $47,400, whereas China's is $7,400. While GPD per capita does not mean average income, the proportion between one country and another is roughly the same as that of the average income.
MintBerryCrunch also makes a very valid point that, while the average income may be very low, that is a m...
I'm the furthest thing from a CoD lover, but at the moment I'm not impressed with Battlefield either. EA is just being way too cocksure with this one, just like they were with the new Medal of Honor--remember how that one turned out?
Don't get me wrong, I hope for all the fans of the series that BF will be the best yet, but I'm not seeing it so far. The "Fault Line" trailer appalled me honestly. It looked exactly like a CoD-wannabe--with corridor gam...
@Alpha:
I know how you feel! My first PS3 was a 20gb (upgraded the HDD, of course; 160gb 7200rpm) launch model--the only all-black SKU--and I was very attached to it. I used to call it "My Precious". Unfortunately, it went YLoD on me, so I replaced it with a Slim ("My Baby"!).
Bubble.
My opinion: this is just like when the PS3 was first launched. For some reason, the entire media took it upon themselves to hate the hell out of the machine. So Sony/ PS3 supporters had to argue back as rabidly as the media. Was Lair good? lol probably not, I don't know because I haven't played it, but the launch lineup was actually quite good (Resistance kicked major ass) and the console was worth more than its price tag.
Why are we defending...
This.
The platforming mechanics need to be less automatic, IMO. I can't stand that the avatar jumps automatically and tries to guess where you intended to go (and very often goes to the wrong place, or overshoots a close ledge to fall to his near-death...). It's like playing a racing game and not having the option to drive manual--automatic just isn't always right.
Uh, it wouldn't be totally unexpected, buy yes, yes it would be a surprise.
