I'm not tired of zombies per se, but rather the horde of generic and uninspired games that feature them.
I haven't been interested by a zombie game in a long time, but this one's piqued my interest. Looking forward to more media and hoping for a demo of this game.
I'd be happy if they were considering entering the PS3 controller market.
That sexy 360 controller is just teasing the hell out of me. Why no PS3 love, Razer?
Well said. I think with each new gen the review system has a chance to re-calibrate itself. When the PS3 was just released, review scores for most of its games were harshly low. Some of it was pure fanboyism and hate on the part of the reviewers, but some of it was also that there was much room for improvement.
As you say, games are getting better--not only overall, but within hardware generations as well. So now that games are so much better than they were at launch (in gene...
Probably because we pay 60+$ for a game rather than 10$ to watch a movie or buy a CD.
I agree that people are way too obsessed over scores nowadays, but I'm not about to go and spend 60+$ on a game that isn't very good.
That being said, I'm always the first one to say scores don't mean shit. Also, reviews are borderline useful to begin with.
I really don't care that the franchises I love are being overshadowed by this one--let the cod-tards flock to buy the next iteration, let them be happy. As long as CoD doesn't INFLUENCE the franchises I love. KZ3 felt way too much like CoD rather than KZ2 for my taste.
@humanbreed
Maybe it's time I stop giving M$ money when they make shitty products. They already owe me a OS that works properly, I'm not about to go and give them my money for its successor.
And you know this how, Mr. Analyst? Sony's a HUGE corporation, btw.
@Dragon:
To my constant despair.
My Vaio is a great piece of hardware, but Vista's been busting my balls for the past 4 years.
Any competent dev with a launch title under their belt should have been able to compete with these "big quality games coming out more often".
Speaking of no games for the PS3: another dev who made a launch title, Insomniac, has been doing very well on every game since. Remember a little game called Resistance? Yeah, I'd say it's doing pretty well as a franchise, and Insomniac are doing well for themselves.
@Kaveti
Really? You got that from the extensive interview in the article, right? Maybe we read a different story, because the one I read gave absolutely no clue whether the dev meant it as a good or bad thing.
Either way, I do find the comment worrying. Since most (all?) reviews are based off the 360 version because PSN is still offline, we have no idea whether SD did a good job with the PS3 version.
@Led:
You don't have to trust every review, but at least do give them a read!
Most of the time, even when a review for a game I'm looking forward to is bad, or I don't trust the review source, at least I can judge from it whether the issues are things I can overlook. In the case of this game, most reviews are pointing out the same flaws, and they're definitely not negligible, in my opinion.
But your opinion might be different-...
Scores don't mean shit.
I'll be the first to admit IGN aren't the greatest, most unbiased reviewers out there, but forget about the score for a moment and read what the complaints are (I won't enumerate them for you...). In this case, they're not negligible.
Hmm... Well, to be perfectly fair, I haven't used Firefox in a long time, and I don't even think I have the latest version installed now. I jumped ship when Chrome was first released, because it was much lighter and faster then. So maybe Firefox has changed...
Yes, the current browser isn't great.
Yes, it crashes a lot.
Yes, Chrome would be a very welcome change.
But while the headline clearly says Chrome isn't coming to PS3, if you'd read the article you'd have noticed the numerous and significant changes Sony has planned for the browser. It won't be Chrome, but it'll be much, much better than it is now.
Everyone knows Firefox eats system resources for breakfast. Prolly one of the reasons we all wans *Chrome* on PS3, not Firefox.
The article does make a pretty convincing argument that the Chrome browser isn't coming to the PS3... But on the bright side, it sounds as if Sony has some major improvements in store for the console's browser. It won't be Chrome, but it'll be a lot better than it is now.
lol, what an insensitive example! Someone posts about a real life tragic accident, and some meaningless twitter game gets a gameplay update...
@gaf:
Nooooo, that would be horrible!
To be perfectly honest, I've been away from my PS3 for a few months now (work related-travelling), so I haven't been affected by the PSN blackout (although I haven't been able to play ANY games since I'm physically without my PS3...). But I'll be home in a few days now, and not for long, and I never expected it to last long enough that I wouldn't get to play online when I got home. :(
@rockleex
I think you're right. Hell, the only reason I'm logging into this site so often lately is to be warned as soon as it's back online!
My Razer Orochi begs to differ...
How does the PS3 not support USB controllers? Either way, I'd expect Razer's PS3 controller to be Bluetooth.
