More than mp though, I'd miss the weekly store updates. New demos and trailers, dlc, etc. But I'd miss mp a helluva lot, for sure.

Maybe not right away, but once they realize the demand for DD is increasing. A Cloud would be a good solution then--would require no add-on hardware, and they could even charge a fee for the service--it'd be a win/win for Nintendo.

I'm pretty sure the name is the main reason the console sold so well... People just loved to say Wii! So they all bought them.
I won't be switching to the Apple camp any time soon, but I'll say one thing for their high prices: build quality. Their products are really well put-together!
That's one thing I find sorely lacking on the PC side; it's very hard to find a decent laptop with the same level of design and build quality as Apple's, and then they end up being roughly the same price anyway. So I think their prices are justified, not by numbers but by fit & finish.
A laptop is still infinitely superior than an ipad in every category you mentioned. The only advantage the ipad has is boot time. Could be useful when you're on the go--literally in the middle of the street--but otherwise a laptop is better in any scenario.
That being said... I do want to buy a tablet. For when I'm in the middle of the street! (And need to look at google maps or something.) But I'm waiting for Sony's. Android + Sony = <3

I love my Go. I'm convinced the system could have done really well if Sony'd just supported it a minimum. Do these 2 things, and the Go would fly off the shelves:
1- Encourage devs to offer their entire library for DD (by encourage, I mean FORCE).
2- LOWER THE PRICE. The original phat and slim saw numerous price drops, which spurred sales every time, yet the Go always remained at an unjustifiable price point...
I'm also looking forward to the S1 more (the tablet). I really want an Android tablet, preferably from Sony, and the S1 is looking to fit the bill. The S2's cool and all, but if I want to game on the go I already have my... well, Go! And I'll probably pick up the NGP when it comes out, so I really don't need my tablet to be anything more than a tablet.
It's a touch-screen... The controller can look like whatever the hell each dev decides it'll look like!
I was worried at first that this game wouldn't have much more than its nostalgia factor to fall back on to be successful, but the more I see the more I know it'll be fucking awesome!

Oh, so that's the magazine shaped tablet I'd been reading about! Was looking forward to finally seeing it.
It's a bit anti-gamer of me to say (especially for a huge PS fan like me...), but I didn't really want this to be PS branded. I would have preferred a straight-up Android tablet from Sony. I really want/need a tablet, and preferably want it from Sony... As long as it's still Android (3.0, please!) I guess having PS branding on top is only a good thing...
PSN'll probably be back up before any newcomer to the game had time to finish Demon's Souls though!

So you still carry around a CD player? Or do you own an iPod? I sure as hell don't miss carrying a CD case with me! And I love my Go because the lack of UMD drive makes it that much smaller.

Actually it's very easy to beat 2$ for a game, just make quality titles. I paid 40$ for Valkyria Chronicles 2, and I'm almost at 100 hours into the game. It's an amazing game. And I would never spend more than 5 minutes total play-time on a 2$ game. So do the math; 40$ is cheaper!
I own a Go, and love it (although the ergonomics could be improved), but I agree with your comment.
Main problem with the thing, though, has ALWAYS been lack of digitally available games. No Crisis Core, WTF? And many other AAA PSP titles are also missing.
