Shit, lol, you're right!
I meant more that they're coming within a year than that they're 2011 titles, but I didn't phrase it properly.
The MW3 and BF3 crowd would vehemently disagree, but I'm positive Twisted Metal and Starhawk will be the best multiplayer games this year. There's just something that needs to be said for fresh experiences.
Twisted Metal is going to be awesome!
@PinchoVe
And that is EXACTLY why I hate killcams. Don't get me wrong, I respect you for doing your homework! But I don't think someone who was bested in a firefight should get the benefit of being able to spot, in death, the things you mention. It's even more unfair to snipers, since it's vital for them not to be located--a killcam immediately gives that up as soon as they kill someone, who can then broadcast his position to their team.
This thing is 17".
I can see this thing getting a lot of hate from true PC gaming enthusiasts, but it looks perfect for me.
I'm currently looking for a high-end laptop with a large screen and excellent build quality. My main use is for multimedia anyway, so being able to play some games on the side is a great bonus, and not my main attraction to this thing.
Also, Razer is a rather exotic brand most people don't know, and this is their first laptop, so it'd be quite ...
Why should everyone have a mic? Hell I have one and outside of MAG, when I used it extensively, I've never used it. Most games don't need it at all.
I'm with Videotron, not Rogers, but all I know is my PSN downloads are slow as shit right now. Downloading a demo used to take a few minutes, now it's taking days. I'm painting while they're downloading, and I may as well watch the paint dry--at the rate both are going, the paint'll start chipping before the downloads are done.
I just got back from 2 months out of the country, so the first thing I did was catch up on the PSN games and demos I missed. Needl...
Shit I hope they don't take as long to localize as they did with damn WKC. I wanted that game but by the time it came to North American shores I had completely lost interest.
I love Studio Ghibli though, so I'll be willing to wait longer for this one than I was for WKC.
*Amendment: The fetch quest turned out to be relatively fruitful... But that doesn't alter the fact that I don't find the reasons given to complete these quests to be motivating. Especially considering that the rewards, most of the time, are just AMMO, of which I already have the maximum for every gun--another thing that annoys me about this game. Either the max ammo count is too low, or FIND ANOTHER reward. I'd prefer the latter. RDR proper had the same problem: the only reward y...
That's obvious, isn't it? They're trying to capture a new fanbase. Because that worked so well with Enslaved, and it's worked so well for Capcom recently what with trying to westernize their franchises.
Seriously, devs who don't appreciate their loyal fanbase deserve all the misery they bring upon themselves.
Who cares? Earphones are much better anyway, and they use less battery power.
@ people disagreeing with DrStabwounds:
Carmack said in his keynote that he's asked Sony to allow Id more install space. Don't know why Sony should decide how much space a game can install to *my* HDD, especially when we can upgrade them, though.
Actually, as hobbies go, gaming is probably among the least expensive ones.
Some games, for 60$ or even less in some instances, will easily last you upwards of 100 hours of gameplay. If you choose them well (and an informed gamer shouldn't have a hard time doing that), a few games can get you through the year--say, 4 or 5. I wouldn't call a 300$/ year hobby one of the most expensive hobbies.
^^Silly hit the nail on the head. I was watching Carmack's keynote presentation from Quakecon, and the whole time I was just thinking "there's so much fodder for flamebait articles to use out of context here." The keynote was literally a gold mine for these dumbass sites!
John just rambles for pretty much 90 minutes straight, moving seamlessly from one subject to the next in an almost hypnotizing way--before you realize what happened, he's covered 4 diff...
I think MAG should definitely be on a list of best online mp FPSs, but this list has all genres combined, so it'd be hard to argue that it should be on there.
But for me, personally, it's the best experience I ever had playing online. And anyone who hasn't played MAG for at least 50 hours, doesn't even have the right to comment on my opinion. People who played MAG easily got hooked for hundreds of hours, so the game did something right for sure!
Glad someone mentioned Resistance on here! Because this, from the list, made me think of that game:
"What I’m not so sure many game developers get is that vulnerability is one of the best ways to convey fear in a game."
Resistance wasn't the scariest game, but it did have atmosphere and there were a few parts where I was very low on health, where I felt some fear!
I prefer digital.
On the go (Go), I don't have to carry a whole bunch of UMDs. I have a dozen games on my system, plus twice that amount of demos, and music and videos, all in a neat little package.
At home, I like not having to swap discs. Only advantage hard copies of PS3 games still have, in my opinion, is that they're cheaper (yeah, go figure) and the sales are better.
For my needs and preferences, DD is great. Maybe your opinions...
Except Doom 3 is the definition of corridor shooter, whereas Rage has huge environments.
Having said that, I have to say I'm also really hyped for Rage. But you should be hyped for Doom 4 then!
I'm no engineer, but I'm pretty sure 3DTVs and the 3DS work in completely different ways.
3DTVs, because you have to wear glasses, do the work for your eyes. All you have to do is stare at the screen like you normally would, and the screen and glasses synchronize to alternate frames with a different point of view to each eye.
The 3DS, on the other hand, displays alternating frames with different points of view which, like you said, make your eyes do t...
Wtf? Noobs have always gotten hate. Either step up your game or gtfo, haters are right.
In fact, if anything, nowadays it's the noobs who refuse to improve their game. Everyone's a noob at first when they play a new game. Some people have more gaming experience in general so they'll overcome the learning curve quicker than others, but everyone goes through it. But now noobs often refuse to improve their game. Rather than learn from veterans, listen to them or emul...
