In general I prefer games that are either SP-only or MP-only. They're usually more focused when they only do either, and they come out better.

For KZ, I'd actually want to get the SP only.

I'm waiting for Starhawk for MP.

If anything NG+ makes it more fun because you get to keep all the gear you worked hard for in the first playthrough.

Some of the gear and spells you can only get at the end of the game. It's fun to start a new game and be able to use them at the beginning. Obviously the difficulty has to be increased accordingly, and it is.

The game wouldn't be the same without the NG+ option.

Worst Dark Souls review. Not really a review, anyway.

To the author: go back to Uni and learn the difference between a comparative essay and a review. Also, while you're there, try to pick up a few hints about something called "objectivity". Reviews aren't supposed to read like a blog. People don't want to read your life's story or which philosophers you read, they want to know how well the game delivers on its promise. And, for this one, it's a ...

@Optical

Completely ignoring the fact that development cycles for all games were shorter back then.

It's the way the industry evolved: increased production values, more staff, longer dev cycles. You can't compare making a game in the 1990s to 2010s.

Squeenix's problem isn't their development cycle, it's mediocrity. Pumping out more games won't change the fact that what they're producing isn't as good as the Fin...

Delusions, denial, or just fail?

It's CoD... It's meant to be too easy. I just love it when CoD "snipers" come to other games and complain that "it's so much harder to get kills with the sniper in this game than in CoD", and they don't understand why.

Need to be a contributor to report stories? Who's brilliant idea was that? This is not news, it's opinion.

"Gets old quick" is along the lines of what I was going to say.

Super Mario Bros is still an excellent game to this day, and people still play it. Will people still play Angry Birds, this bite-size game, 15 years from now? Hell no.

Angry Birds the new SMB? Fuck no. More like the new Furbie.

I'll do that then, thanks!

@Admiral

Fine, I'll bite the bait.

CoD;

-Very few shots to kill. This requires little skill in aiming, and will reward players for lucky shots and spraying. Also, if it takes 2 shots to the feet to kill someone, there's no point in aiming for classic weak spots like the head.

Other games that take more shots to kill demand from their players to be able to maintain a bead on their enemy, and also to aim for weak spots ...

I haven't tried it for myself yet, so I don't know if it's good or not.

Seems a lot of people are still against it, but I'll reserve judgment until after I've played in 3D.

I'm still not comfortable with the idea of having those tiny screens sit so close to my eyes for prolonged periods of time...

The PlayStation 3DTV, though, I'd get excited about! If I had some money right now... :(

Ugh I hate noobs.

But hey, to each their own. If they enjoy the game because they spawn behind people's backs and it takes 2 bullets in the feet to kill someone, then great! CoD's success is based on its accessibility. All I say to them in return is "enjoy your game, but don't try to convince me to play it!"

I prefer something that takes thought, skill, and has a learning curve--a steep learning curve! Like MAG did. 5+ bullets to the bod...

I think the MW bashing comes both from the fact that's it's over-hyped by its [huge] fanbase and overrated by [idiot] critics.

Critical acclaim means NOTHING for video games anymore. What can we do? Hate on the game even more to compensate for idiotic sell-out critics.

As for the fans, they think and act like MW is the best franchise ever and the only game worth playing. What can we do? Well, nothing, because they're brain-washed idiots! Can't...

1 thing:

A GRAB BUTTON.

I hate how in Assassin's Creed (and InFamous alike) your character will gravitate to any flat surface and automatically stick to it. Example: ffs, I DIDN'T WANT to land on that railing, I was trying to jump over it to catch my target who's running away, but now he's gone. Or: I'm trying to fall to the ground from this 3 floor building to run away from that mob, NOT GRAB ONTO every single brick on the way down, which...

@Hydro:

Agreed. I platted the game a few days ago and I can confidently claim to have mastered PvE (I did complete it 4 times by now though, and contribute to the wikispace page). I'm getting into PvP pretty seriously now though, and it's a whole other game, and I definitely wouldn't say I've mastered that for a while--if ever.

Right now I'm trying to see if I can find ways to tell which pyro spell my opponent is casting. My build is focus...

But two years after launch the PSN Id Blaine will have been stolen from me. That's why I need to buy the PS4 day 1! Just like I got the PS3... day 3 (was good enough!).

For real though, I got a PS3 right away becaus I really wanted to play Resistance. And it was a great decision! 40 players online was an amazing experience back then, and the game was tons of fun, and lightyears ahead of anything PS2 players were getting at the same time.

Yup, there have been examples of single-platform devs going multi and failing at it (NINJA THEORY).

I don't wish that at all for Konami though. I hope this game succeeds as well as other MGS games have.

And I will say, that going multiplatform shouldn't have any effect on the final product. Squeenix may or may not have fucked up FFXIII because they went multiplat, but From Software sure as hell showed us it's possible with Dark Souls. The spiritua...
