It doesn't run anywhere near max settings for me on a I7 / 980 SLI build, I'm playing with the settings turned down quite a bit where I can play the Witcher 3 maxed out. Still really enjoying my time with the game so far and the game is still beautiful, the world design is really on point.

The speeds are definitely not on par with Steam for me here in the UK.

Kotor 3 would make me so happy if they don't screw it up. The first game is my favourite game of all time. Bloodborne is my favourite PS exclusive this gen and I would love to play more of it.

A little bit of history.

DayZ came first. The first battle royale mod was a mod for Arma 2: DayZ made by Brendan Greene. He later went on to make a battle royale mod for Arma 3. After this he worked as a consultant for H1Z1s development with Sony and once this was done Bluehole asked for his blessing when they decided they wanted to make a battle royale game which ultimately became PubG which he continues to work on.

The reason it's not fair to say an...

The Arma 2 / 3 mods were made by Brendan Greene who later went on to consult on Sony's (which soon after became Daybreak) battle royale game (H1Z1) and later went on to work on PubG. Fortnite is the biggest non Brendan Greene battle royale game.

It kind of does, I think it would be super convenient if these non Greene BR games just popped up by coincidence and had nothing to do with Brandon Greene's successful titles in the genre.

>Valves complete system relies on online connectivity.
Which must mean the cost is high too.

>They are making bank on all the revenue
They sell a lot of games on the store but so do the consoles manafacturers nowadays.

Valve also manufacture and develop hardware. Valve controller, the new SteamVR lighthouse and knuckles. Not to the same degree of course but it's there, they spent a lot of effort designing what they eventually ...

Valve manage to pay for their servers without a subscription fee being imposed on Steam users and they offer more than what the other online communities have, it's not just matchmaking. It's steam community, steam marketplace, steam workshop, way more cloud save storage than the others offer, steam party chat. All while having 10M+ users logged in at any one time.

@morganfell are you excluding PC when you say that? You do realise PUBG is selling faster than Minecraft did in the same time period on PC. Currently at near 30M sales.

I don't but I'm primarily a PC guy who also owns all the consoles for their exclusives. Consoles still aren't there with Steam yet when it comes to deals and so I do buy the occasional console game retail but still not from a brick and mortar store. I always just buy everything from Amazon as it's so convenient.

I hope it's like DA:O, I loved that game so much.

This discussion pains me. It seems so obvious that it is better for the consumer yet so many people seem to fight it. I understand a lot of people simply don't care, that's fine but I can't understand why you wouldn't want to be able to play with more people.

@Gwiz 2 games in 8 years is not really milking like CoD.

What do "you" mean "you people"?

3063d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's not the most played game on Steam for no reason. I'm not saying number of players means a game is better than the others but when a game has over 4 times the concurrent players as the next game on the Steam list it must be doing something right for a lot of people.

I understand this site has a war to fight though so if you want balanced opinions on Fortnite vs PUBG it might be better looking at a PC only forum.

@Ciporta1980 So Digital Foundry don't know what they are talking about when comparing the power of the GPU to the PS4? The stats they show in those videos such as https://www.youtube.com/wat... are doctored? I'm not sure what you are saying here.

His point is simple, it's as good as a PS4, you're the one saying that's not good enough.

Why do you say it is far from finished? What do you want them to add now that we have 1.0.

The game runs pretty smoothly on high end PCs, I get a constant 60+ fps at 1440p. I don't mind paying $30 to join in with what all of my friends are playing and I definitely feel like I got good value from that purchase seeing as I have 121 hours played.

I understand what you mean though and I wouldn't recommend anyone pick it up if they don't have a strong PC.

Kind of drowns out the real message though which is the act of selflessness if they go to full on.

@Zabastu The networking is the only thing I sometimes have an issue with. The game runs at 80 - 90 fps / 1440p for me which isn't amazing but I wouldn't call it a turd.
