I switched to PC (as my main gaming device) 8 years ago and it's where I will stay. I do own all of the consoles as well but just like PC I don't buy every exclusive that releases on the platforms as I just don't have enough time. Through all of the steam sales I have amassed a steam library of over 600 games and about 50% of those I am yet to play.
I'm not sure where / if I will fit God Of War into that list but when the Last Of Us Part 2 comes out that wil...
It definitely wont be in 10 - 15 years. It's nice to know that games you loved are being archived for the future. If you want to play it ASAP then you probably already have or you should buy it on console.
Are we going past this article to draw up some form of abuse against Sony just so that we can say us too? Lots of Sony hating? This site definitely doesn't have a widespread issue of abuse against Sony.
Most people on this site have probably have never played any of those games on PC maxed out and probably wont believe what a big jump it can be from other versions / lower settings. Battlefront 2 maxed out on a monster PC looks incredible.
I can't compare it to this game though for the same reason.
Which by that logic would mean PC gaming is dead as no other game comes close to that on Steam. http://store.steampowered.c...
They become and stay bestselling titles on their platforms? I'm not sure you can call the bestselling game of the year a fad without calling all games a fad.
@BVFTW I agree, I own three of these games but don't have access to a working PS3. I would love to be able to play them again without shelling out any more money.
How is that better? You spend money on a console that has a limited lifetime and will only play the games as they were made instead of not spending money and just emulating the games at resolutions and frame rates that will only get better over time, better yet, It will last for as long as the software is executable. Which will be much longer than the lifespan of any hardware.
It might be the best way to play the games if you have to play them right now but I imagine that p...
PUBG on PC isn't great from an optimisation standpoint. Stuttering being the main issue (I sometimes get a hefty stutter when my character takes damage) but I also get around 80 - 130 FPS. I assume you are mainly referring to the Xbox version.
I think he is just saying, chill. Let's wait and see. Speculating on how much you personally will enjoy a game is hard enough, speculating on how well the entire playerbase will enjoy a game is even harder.
A lot of people I know who own a PC copy had already bought a console copy by the time it was announced on PC. Do we even know what the game sold on console, not doubting it sold more, just wondering if we have any reliable numbers for this game outside of Steamspy.
Every online service has rules. N4G has them, I've said things the moderators here didn't agree with (nor do I looking back at it) and have been banned temporarily.
Yes it is, I played the beta version at Gamescom last year and it was a big step up from what we currently have but they are certainly taking their time delivering it.
Software certificates are not DRM. They are a way of linking software to an organisation / individual for the same reason as HTTPS certificates. So that you can trust what is coming from them to be coming from them.
They can kind of be used as DRM, as you can make your software refuse to run libraries that don't have your signature but this is more tamper-protection than DRM.
I still don't get how this isn't well known yet, let alone how journalists writing an article about this topic don't even seem to know the basic history of the genre.
I bought the witcher 3 from GoG just because it said the developers would get a bigger cut from the sale.
I wouldn't like that, Valve has built up trust with PC Gamers since the days where people were unwilling to accept Steam as they viewed it as intrusive DRM being forced upon them with Half Life 2 in 2004 to today where PC Gaming and Steam seem almost indistinguishable. Microsoft on the other hand has had a much more turbulent relationship with gamers over the years with things like games for windows live and now the Microsoft Store.
I guess you also want to wipe out the used game market as developers get nothing from that instead of just less.
Yup, cosmetic microtransactions that stop the playerbase from being split into those who have the new content and those that don't is a win for everyone IMO. I don't mind games offering cosmetics or pay to skip options (like rainbow six or warframe) if it means everyone gets important new content for free and can continue to play with everybody else. I agree with your definition of fair 100%.
I think focusing on the initial cost of the product when defining when it ...
I see a lot of people say that PCs can't compete with PS4 exclusive graphics on this site but they seem to be missing from this thread, I suppose that says a lot.
