Yet ANOTHER GOTY competitor emerges.
Quite a year for gamers.
^Aside from the bit about only the forums being hacked, you are absolutely right. There was actually an attempt on personal information via the Steam network.
The reason it's not as big a deal is because Valve was PREPARED for such an attack. There is a much better chance that no personal information was obtained from Steam due to their encryption methods.
That's not to say hackers DIDN'T obtain any information, but Sony's security measures w...
Alright, now that I have a legal copy of the game, I can honestly say that the issue IS actually present.
When installed, textures will randomly look ugly and low-res. I obviously can't speak for the PS3 version, but I've heard that it does not suffer from these issues.
Yeah, it's not up yet.
I agree 100%. I loved playing OoT again...but the key word there is "again."
If SM3D Land is good (and it is supposed to be really, really good), it will literally be the first great original title released for the 3DS...that's almost 8 months after launch. That's absolutely ridiculous.
Yeah. Here's hoping Lens of Truth gets their Skyrim comparison up today.
The pics here are too small and aren't even close to the same image most of the time.
What? You're seeing low-res textures when you install the game? No you're not.
Crisis averted. Thanks Pete.
lol that they found him at Gemstop waiting in line after he failed to steal it.
It's really less a question of whether or not someone is going to be insulted by these characters and more about whether or not dressing females up like this is conducive to creating interesting characters.
"Seductive," is pretty much the default characterization for women in video games these days. I mean, there's really not much else you can do with a character that's dressed up like a Friday night stripper.
Which is fine. I know women...
I'll just tell you that I can be a little....I guess "bitchy" is the word, when it comes to generic anime design, but Chrono Cross doesn't bother me.
And no, the load times are just fine here. The long load times were present in the original Playstation re-release of Chrono Trigger. It had nothing to do with poor emulation, btw.
Also, I can't honestly say I liked the game better than Trigger (because...I mean, it's Chrono Trigger), b...
And what's up with kids these days and their long hair and hippity hop and crack cocaine?
No, in fact Japan didn't REALLY become a real force in gaming until the NES in '83 or '84.
And then nine times out of ten, the money gets pumped back into the industry, because the vast...VAST majority of sales to Gamestop are credit sales.
What people don't seem to understand is that this goes deeper than just Gamestop. You are afforded the same penalties if you decide to sell the game personally. In essence, they are exploiting a technicality to insure that selling games secondhand will never be worth your time, despite the fact that resale is COMPLETELY within our legal rights as consumers.
Then to add insult to injury, huge chunks of the final product (that we paid full price for, because why would we b...
They already made a profit. The game has to be sold to become secondhand.
@DatNJDom81
I agree that CoD is afforded a LOT more leeway than almost every other franchise, but I honestly don't think it has anything to do with console loyalty. For one, this is a multi-platform game. I think it's just FRANCHISE loyalty.
And Gears of War 3 has a lower aggregate average than Uncharted 3, just for the record.
Lore and concept is exactly what Ninja Theory took from "Journey to the West." Aside from lore and concept the similarities between the two stories are superficial at best.
Ran is based on King Lear
The Matrix stole from the Invisibles
Bioshock is based on Atlas Shrugged
God of War draws from...all of Greek Mythology
Influences and homage are very different things from stealing. Aside from a very liberal interpretation of the original structure, the setting and story are very much a product of Ninja Theory.
Goddammit. EVERY SINGLE GAMING SITE has an article like this. These are obviously just traffic-bait. It's getting so flipping annoying.
Yeah...it's getting goddamn ridiculous. There is something fundamentally wrong with game journalists these days. Apparently "great, but the same" only affords games high scores if the term "Call of Duty" is in the title.
