He should not have been banned. This was essentially a form of censorship, and whether or not it was racially driven is irrelevant. We don't "silence" people that we don't agree with. That's just not right.
This is an aggregate news/article site. If people simply want system-specific cheerleading, then there are PLENTY of sites out there to accommodate them.
He should not have been banned. He's a total tool a lot of the time, but he should not have been banned. There are plenty of tool journalists that are not banned on the site.
No, it's the U.S. In fact it's so big, analysts believe that if they were to outlaw or restrict it in any way, it would negatively affect the economy. And it's not like we're walking around in habits and robes over here, either.
Apparently because we have a screwed up rating system headed by a bunch of old white guys, it gives some Europeans the right to make sweeping generalizations about our ENTIRE nation.
Oh my yes. I mean, America only has the most successful pornography industry in the world, after all. We're obviously still stuck in our puritanical bubble over here.
^It is a FIGHTING GAME. The shallow inclusion of TnA in a game that has no context for it is what is offensive, not the content itself. No one is offended by the sight of boobs, goddammit.
And I'm not even saying anyone has to agree with the sentiment. Just stop saying idiotic bullshit like "oh, they're just scared of boobies, lololol" or "can't show boobies but I can kill whoever I want!? That's America for you, lolol."
"Sure, the hammer is a pretty cool new technology, but think of all the children a serial killer could murder with it."

God it's good to hear from reasonable people in the midst of all the hyperbole and idiocy that this game has been generating.
It's not that I think any game on the list had a particularly BAD singleplayer campaign, but...good god, this is a terrible list. It's way too constrictive to really be worth anything. Not only do the games have to be what they define as "mainstream," but they also have to be "recent" and apparently can't incorporate any instance of extended exploration.
Even with all that, though, how games like Half-Life 2 (or at least Episode 2), Crysis 2 an...
*sigh* That's not it at all.
It's one thing to have a buxom woman here and there in a video game, but when it makes absolutely no sense within the context of the game, it becomes exploitative and insulting. Because there is literally no point to it. Can you think of any reason an ad for a FIGHTING GAME would show a close-up of a woman's sweaty cleavage? No. Because it is only there to (apparently) sucker horny nerds into buying it.
Then think of a...
^Yes, the glistening, ridiculously proportioned breasts are clearly not the real focus point of that Soul Calibur ad.
That's true. Only this is not "sex" as much as it is exploitation. There's nothing artistic about throwing in a few boobs and butts to attract that shallow demographic of gamers that apparently likes to sport a boner while they play all their games.
I will actually lose respect for them if they DO change it. Gamers have developed a nasty sense of entitlement over the years, and giving them exactly what they want out of established franchises has only led to things like "annual" releases and tired genre tropes.
Gamers are 100% entitled to dislike a game (presumably after they've ****ing played it), but they are absolutely NOT entitled to dictate what goes into them.
I openly admit that emo Dante looks really stupid, but the rest of the game is looking pretty great as far as I'm concerned.
The backlash for this game has just really....dumbfounded me.
Jesus tap-dancing Christ.
I knew DMC "fans" were being complete tools, but I didn't think it would go this far.
As far as gender ratios for gamers go, it's actually close to even now. That is if "studies" are anything to go on.
What's not even is the ratio of female to male game designers. It's something like 90:1. That's why you have an overabundance of male-centric games on the market. Women just aren't making them.
And please. Women are not being objectified in video games. It's physically impossible for a virtual entity to be objec...
Disagreed because it totally is.
^ I think he was being sarcastic, guy.
Yeah, I mean they can only invest so much time into making a grade-A single-player experience. I say let them devote less time and effort into what made the franchise as incredible as it is.
GIVE US SOME TACKED ON MULTI-PLAYER, GUYS! Because why the hell not!?
If girls don't like the games that are being made, then they can either:
a) start making games themselves that would appeal them
or
b) shut the hell up and enjoy what's on the market
Obviously there are a lot more male-centric games out there, but that's just because 90% of game designers are men, and men naturally create what they and other men enjoy playing. It'd be sort of like me complaining that Victoria ...
It's true. People from other countries who accuse "Americans" of being prudes don't seem to realize that the wrinkly, old white dudes that run the vast majority of our rating systems and/or perpetrate censoring like this, DO NOT represent the actual mentality of our culture regarding sexuality.
The American public in general is actually fairly provocative.
