I would love a portable 360. Just make a 360 controller and throw a nice PSP or Vita screen in the middle of it and boom. Throw a decent sized SD card in there and play whatever is on the marketplace. Leave it without a disc drive to save space/parts. Also allow it to play games from your gamertag library. I would buy one yesterday.
All that dedicated means is that it can do more than just game. Who cares if the games end up being better than something on a dedicated handheld? Because you can't go on the internet and watch youtube on a 3DS it's dedicated?
Being able to do more than play games isn't a negative thing.
No back then PS2 had 70-80% of the market. Publishers could do it then. It doesn't work for PS3 because of 360 chunk of the market hence final fantasy games ended up on Xbox platforms.
Read it again. I said if said games were also on PS2 they would have survived.

It even has pretty charts with sales. Honestly, do you really need this? It's common sense, but what ever floats your boat.
Screw loyalty if it means an end to a series. I can only imagine if there would have been PS2 versions of Shenmue 1 and 2, Jade Empire, KOTOR 1 and 2, and countless other classics that just couldn't get the sales on a single platform. (I'm not counting PC here because it just opens all kinds of Master Race stuff.)
Those games would have all received follow ups not only because of it's multiplatform range but because they're all damn good games that ended too...
That's how I look at it as well.
I'm trying to figure out why MS is so willing to go with their plan even in the face of competing consoles with less restrictions. It's a little scary to think about the best exclusives could be on x1 only because of their deep pockets and developers seeing a much bigger slice of the pie...essentially cutting out gamestop and gamefly. It's insanity.
Hmmm, I'd agree if Gamestop was going out of business but they're banking all the money that could have turned things around for publishers like THq.
I will never understand this kind of thinking. How is getting final fantasy out to more gamers a bad thing? What if the Xbox gamer falls in love with the series and go back to play them all? They would have to get a PS2, psone, and an SNES...or other possible ways. What would you have said when ffvii made the jump from Nintendo to Sony? "Grrr! Nintendo needs to pony up, make a CD drive, rabble rabble." :D

I agree with you 100%. I'm not ecstatic about Xbox one in the least bit but I guess I can see why devs will defend it.
PS4 is the 360 for next gen. Simple as that. I can't wait to see how NBA2k14 turns out on PS4. I'll keep my 360 for current gen stuff and the BC titles that worked from the real Xbox O.G. One.
X1 doesn't even exist to me. I'll ignore it like MS has ignored their fans.
I'm a multiplat player that wants to own my NBA 2k14 purchase. PS4 is a no brainer. Exclusive titles are overrated. Especially shooter fps games. I'll keep my 360 for my Gears fix. That's about it.
Thank god Sony sees the light. Nextgen looks to only be the end of Microsoft.
I'd love to see another 2k football. If anything just to get EA to step up Madden. It's not been good for football fans this generation.
Start over on Madden or let others made NFL games again.
Remake is awesome. I'm hoping for Sega to an HD remake too.
