SEGA! I need a new HD Streets of Rage!

In Japan, companies don't believe in paying extra to get exclusive games. Not wanting to be looked down upon in Japan, Sony reversed the process by buying up good studios and having exclusive titles under the Sony umbrella.

MS, being American, have no problems shoving money at publishers to get timed exclusives and full exclusives.

It's more of a difference in business ethics than it is Sony not competing with MS in bidding wars.

I'm just waiting to see how different Titan Fall is on One versus 360. If the 360 version hangs in there and the only short comings are some lighting techniques and some extra particle effects which I suspect, then I can sit on this generation of consoles for another 4 or 5 years.

There is nothing shown now that excites me for next gen.

Games that come out will make that choice. The NES was inferior to the Sega Master System but the NES kicked it's ass in sales. Wii less powerful than PS3/360 and crushed them in console sales.

It's all about the games. Graphics are a non-factor and always have been since the 80s.

I'm in the same boat. Mario HD so awesome. I kind of wanted the original Wii to fail so Nintendo would go third party for Sony and MS. We would have had HD Mario in 2007.

Wii-u is a Ps3 with Nintendo exclusives. Ps3 mimics Nintendo's exclusives enough to a point where it isn't a big enough selling point.

Nintendo needs to get GAMES that will make people take notice other than Mario and Zelda.

WiiU is looking like Sega Saturn. Great 1st party games but 3rd party is weak.

Nintendo used to pre-Wii era. Notice the Nintendo seal of quality isn't a seal of quality any more. Now it just means that the software is officially licensed for use on a Nintendo console.

Nintendo is hardly a saint when it comes to shovelware.

The PSP gave me cramps. I loved hacking the hell out of it but it became pointless because I couldn't play any fighters or games that required a lot of dpad. It works for turn based RPGs pretty well though.

The sports games on Vita alone sell it to me...when they shave 50-100 off.

NBA 2k13 on the go that holds up to the PS3 version? Count me in.

Both have weak launch titles. I'm waiting for some real games to come.

How does NBA 2k13 play on vita? Is it comparable to ps3?

Vita would skyrocket if Sony would cut the price by 50

Xbox 1 games still look tight. Play code veronica on Dreamcast. It's so much clearer. Ps2 has poor anti aliasing.

Man, out of the thousand or so ps2 games that came out I've only kept 20. Too much shovelware for my tastes. Dreamcast's versions of same titles looked better than PS2 versions. PS2 sold because it was a cheap DVD player that just happened to run the worst versions of some of the best games.

Just hook up a ps2 to a HDTV and look at them ugly graphics. So damn blurry. If there was a PC version, Xbox, or Dreamcast version of whatever game I bought those. PS2 was ...

I do that too. Since gamepro.com shut down we've migrated to Facebook. Many like me were members for 10 years or more. It's not fun trying to fit into a new format. I can't stand the bubble system either. I read and comment on blogs primarily because people put time into them. Lately I only talk about games and refrain from mentioning consoles. People on game sites know what games are from who. I do disagree with things that are fully onesided that belittle the other if i...

The best games came when the main competitors were on even playing field.

Genesis\Mega Drive versus Super Nintendo\Super Famicom was my favorite generation because of great competition.

We don't get that when one company rules over all others. We also don't get it when one company locks down a genre. Just look how poor football games have been since 2005.

I favor choice.

If I wasn't out of shape and uncoordinated I wouldn't mind kinect but I just don't feel like sweating to play a damn game. Call me a fatty but I'm just being real. I just get home from work and I just want to kick back relax with a cold beer and a pizza and battle some people on Gears of War 3 or some NBA 2k13.

As long as they keep kinect optional on the games I like, it won't affect me...but I did lose 10 pounds playing dance central. Or maybe It just ...

Halo 2 was the only one I liked online. I hope they do an anniversary version like the first.

I think it was because of the 360/Call of Duty craze. I'd bet 80% of 360 owners play Call of Duty only. Then when a new Call of Duty comes out they switch games and stick with it for the next release. Welcome to the Call of Duty generation.

Pffft. It's the soul reason that creative games don't sell and companies aren't making money on other games because addicts of Call of Duty don't have time for other games. Sad.

I'm a Sega freak. Sonic came out in 1991. Mega Drive came out in Europe in 1990. Altered Beast was the pack-in game in most areas until holiday 1991. Nintendo was releasing the Super Nintendo with Super Mario World that holiday and Sega wanted Sonic to go head to head with it that year.

1991 was an awesome time for gaming! I have to go play some FZero now.

I guess I should say you only need one big game to get the fire going then the longevity kicks in afterwards.
