Forza's 4100 available layers of customization will sell as many games as its sim racing aspect. Selling or trading sweet custom painted cars will become hugely popular.
Forza has a feature where the creater of a custom paint scheme can lock it in so that even if the car is traded online, the future owner cannot alter the scheme. It can be painted over but the original custom paint scheme cannot be changed.
This will make for some unique collection possibilities...
The 360 will continue to pull ahead of the PS3 as developers take advantage of the 360's state of the art XNA Toolkit which allows developers to create games for the 360 and pc simultaneously. The potential return on investment is far greater than developing for the PS3 alone.
Ease of development and greater returns will continue to push the 360 ahead. There's an old saying that fits: "a bird in the basket is worth two in the bush..."
As the gap widens,...
For your information Famitsu gave Forza 2 excellent ratings: 9/9/9/9. Forza's physics model exceeds anything---anything to date. Polyphony has its work cut out fot it... particularly for a developer that thinks bouncing cars off of walls at 200mph is realistic. Some sim! Ha!

Now about Forza's tire physics, read this exerpt:
Forza Motorsport 2’s Executive producer Dan Greenawalt discussed Turn 10’s lust for cars (and ...
Microsoft had a motion sensing controller, similar to six-axis, years ago. They dumped it because it did not work as well as expected AND developers gave it little support.
And yes, $ony added sixaxis in lieu of rumble. $ony blew it by not settling with Immersion Technologies before the PS3's release. It was one of $ony's biggest fumbles to date.
Blue Dragon will see strong sales in North America, Europe and Australia. Many 360 owners are also rpg fans. This will be a must have game for a lot of people. I can't wait!
I own the original JJ & Jeff for the TurboGrafx system. I is a funny, manic game. JJ & Jeff use spray cans to incapacitate enemies. In the original PC Engine version (Japanese TurboGrafx), JJ & Jeff (I forget their Japanese names) used farts to disable their enemies.
Even though the game was "cleaned up" for its American release, the same facial animations remained intact from the original. It was hilarious!
When I eventually buy a Wii it wi...
Desperate? No, more like PATHETIC!
The upscaled screens looked worse than the originals. Blurred.
Seriously... How can you even compare millions of pretenders to the select few who had the skill?
With Forza, even with damage modeling set to 'cosmetic only' players still had to race clean lines and stay on-track if they wanted to advance in the game. Forza was about realism: pretenders need not apply.
Forza's demanding--and challenging A.I. is second to none. Nothing---nothing else comes close as anyone who has played the game will attest.

Always dreaming of the future instead of playing in the now....
Yes, it's possible Polyphony will get it right, though until now they have zero experience in damage modeling.
Until then, and only if they deliver beyond what Forza already delivers, GT will remain second rate.
The future always holds promise---but you still can't take 'hope' to the bank.
Crackdown is an insanely fun game! And that was before the added content. Now it's insane fun x 10!
I could hardly believe my eyes the first time I used the new harpoon gun and harpooned a Los Muertos gang member to the side of my armored car. Pinning four more gang members, having them dangle from the sides on my ride, and earning the Body Armor achievement then driving around, running over everyone in my path with 5 Los Muertos hood ornaments----now that is what Crackdown is ...
>>> You and Polyphony have not let me down yet (and 45 million other people) <<<< -- people with low expectations that is!
At least now the GT series has a chance to be a true racing simulator!
Here's to no more "rubber band trick" racing! Now maybe all players will actually have to earn new cars by actually using driving skills instead of bouncing off of walls a high speeds! Something Forza players had to do from day one!
Now at least GT has a chance to catch up, and maybe exceed Forza's excellence!
Here's to GT5! We hope you learned your lessons well!
Forza 1 set the bar high. It was an amazing game the achieved something many thought impossible. Forza, in its first iteration unseated reigning champ, Grand Turismo, by bringing more accurate physics modeling, damage effects, both cosmetic and affected, a higher level of available performance tuning (engine swaps and more..) and the richest set of car customization tools yet allowing incredibly detailed user-created paint schemes.
Forza 2 will raise the bar even higher with a ...
Sony will not overtake the Xbox 360 and "win" this generation's console war. Microsoft has laid a foundation for tight game development allowing pc and 360 versions to be developed simultaneously with little to no additional effort by the developers.
It's the very fact that the 360 and pc games share so much that just abaout guarantees the 360's success. It is the 360, not the PS3 that will pull ahead with sheer volume of quality games. We are seeing evidence of this ...
Balance, balnce, balance... strategy---lots of strategy. Raection time? You better be quick---damned quick. And---you better have a plan; a plan of attack, a plan of defense and a plan of escape. You'll need them all.
Relentless conflict.
Absolute immersion.
A sense of ever-present danger.
That's Halo.
No other game does 'Halo' better than Halo.
4-million presales and counting.
Conspiracy theories and meglomania aside, the original Xbox survived for the very same reason the 360 now thrives. Games. Good ones. Even GREAT ONES!
The difference now is that the 360 has an icredibly deep library of next-gen games, rich in diversity and creativity.
There is a simple rule in retail: give the customer what they want, at a competitive price, and you'll be a success.
Conversely, overcharge your customers by including features not al...
Well, the PS3 is finally outselling the Elite as the 360 Elite has sold out on Amazon.com.
Just think about it, a new sku & model for a year-and-a-half old system and the demand is greater than the supply! Amazing!
And, for the record, the Premium 360 is still outselling the PS3.
It IS about the games.
The PS3 being outsold by Xbox 360 Elite--AND the 360 Premium.
The reason? It's the GAMES!
>>> its 51 gigs bud.
triple layer that is. <<<
Yep, Auron is right.
