Sigh, I miss those MechAssault games. That, Kotor, Halo 1 & 2, and NG made the xbox such a memorable console for me.
Just how is the Natal more advanced though? Just because it has an extra camera? Couldn't you just put an infrared light next to a webcam to illuminate the room and program software to interpret image w/ infrared?
I don't know, but if I were just an average joe consumer, I would've thought the natal was very advanced if only seeing the Jimmy fallon show an the milo tech demo. But because I've seen videos of EyeToy, played one long ago at ToysRus, and found through articles o...
someone on here posted a link to a youtube video of a comparison of the PS2 eyetoy & the marketing video for the Natal. The vid showed the eyetoy doing pretty much the stuff you mentioned.
Found the link in my history

I was telling my gf the other night about MS possibly creating their own retail chain to directly compete against the Apple stores, and I told her I thought it would be successful. Reason being that aside from MS being good at copying other techs, they're extremely good at marketing their products.
The way I see it is, they've never really had much originality to them. Nothing that screams "Mic...
been busy remodelling and checked out N4G to see Advertars? Wah? Something new for my 360? From what I read and the comments here, I assume this means my $2-3 per month going to Gold will mean I get to look at .... more.... advertisements and advertise these name brands by wearing their virtual products? Shouldn't I be paid for my time in talking to someone else about some company's product?
Maybe it's because every video I've seen (except for this one) of this game and Forza 3 (except for the link above) had really bad drivers. I remember the one F3 vid of the guy driving all over the grass and bumping into the car just so they could win the lap.
Yea that grass and asphalt looked really flat. And I mean really really flat. And those trees are those 2D "+" trees.
they need to start showing videos with that "arcade mode" off pretty soon. Seriously, Forza is beginning to look like an arcade game. Cars like that shouldn't even flip hitting the wall regardless if "arcade mode" was on. It's as if these cars are starting to have no weight at all flipping and rolling over as they please. Even with arcade mode on the cars should have some difficulty driving on sand/grass. And the driver? He's bumping around the cars to get ahead! T...
are you referring to the NGK and the stars next to it? The stars is the Tamiya logo dude. http://www.tamiya.com/
How can you not know Tamiya? j/k =D
btw I love knowing F3 looks this good.
wow wasn't aware F3 used 2D trees. bubbles to you mate.
Actually, I'm starting to think that GT vid is in-game and not CG. The link Randomwiz posted to watch at 1:23 about the Nascar segment. Seems like that entire part was in-game too, since well the last two cars seem to have some graphic anomalies with the shadow at about 1:21. Now why would CG have that?
^ well said.
As much as I thought WTF when they cost $1000, you guys gotta realize when you look at the product in person, the Sony item screams quality. Spec-wise it's roughly the same or similar to other netbooks. Battery-wise probably not as good, but the craftsmanship of the thing and the screen quality is amazing. A similar ~$129 Asus Eee from Woot that my sister recently got can't compare to the Sony when looking at the quality of its build. The Eee is very cheaply made and is what defines most...
Yea according to the link Phosphor posted. Someone else posted the same video in several other topics before. Watch the whole thing and you'll see it seems that Sony's been having people developing motion controls a long while back. The guy even had the camera do head tracking. And the speaker guy did the headtracking before that other amateur guy who did it (the one that did it using WiiMotes and then PSEye) on the interwebz.
^ Sony's controller has analog controls and digital buttons on em. They demonstrated analog use during the spray can scene. Now as for costs, the PSeye is $39.99 but some people say you can just use a regular usb camera. Add the wand, let's say it's $39.99 as well, then it sets you at ~$80. WiiMotion Plus according to ebgames costs $24.99. Now you can argue that "oh but we need to get the motionplus adapter only." If you take that to account, the PSmotion setup would cost ...
Those pics are as cg-fake as when people claimed the Forza 3 creativity trailer to be real in-game graphics. I have a hard time believing the PSP can do graphics like those even after watching the youtube vid you guys linked. They're probably just photomode pics touched up bullshots.
gonna agree with you and crab on this. The Raiden/Vamp scene was awesome, piloting Rex was fantastic, and the last scene vs Ocelot was like an interactive "western" showdown movie. However the rest of the game didn't seem next-gen. Graphics-wise it seemed like a hi-def version of what could be a PS2 game. Presentation-wise it was spectacular. Even though I didn't like the story much or the last scene, I thought it was very touching and emotional seeing Old Snake talk to Big Bo...
@Sox
I agree with you but i think this time I'm going to have to side w/ the guys hoping the game fails. MGS2 was pretty neat and MGS4 was even better, but I felt it was lacking something. The storyline also isn't for everybody. If I had to pick between MGSR or Conviction, I think i'd get Conviction. On a side note though, I just recently picked up Fable 2 when the price went down at Fry's and I'm quite disappointed. The story is cliche, it's not as open-ended as it was adve...

Kojima is the god of convoluted story lines. As much as i thought MGS4 was great, there were times (especially the last scene w/ Old Snake & Big Boss talking) when I thought WTF? Of course I never played MGS, did play MGS2, and skipped on MGS3. I enjoyed Portable Ops a lot, but obviously it doesn't really tie into Solid Snake's arc. I probably would understand that last scene better if I had played MGS...
