he should've at least compared games when their tracks were of the same scenery.
they took pictures of Forza 3 kiosks but not the GT5? Those kiosks look very empty too. Something tells me there's a lot of bias in the writer.
GT5 has been in development for... 5 years? Shouldn't they begin development when they actually got dev kits?
Anyway, let's say they are taking 5 years... they [PD] had to completely redo their GT engine for the PS3.
-Less staff
-redo 900+ cars all over again in 3D for the PS3
-different locations, real & fictional
-WRC & Nascar
-Kaz being a perfectionist
-redo the physics engine
- day / night + weather change system
Well the day/night thing was confirmed by the E3 trailer, headlights in night-time driving shouldn't be too big of a deal since it was done in GT before with headlight projection and all albeit low-res. I'm curious if they'll add in damageable headlights though. That'd be interesting doing a rally at night with damaged lights.
Judging by the way things are going, I have to say the E3 trailer and the tribute has to be in-game. Remember that GTplanet article about the guys that...
i think the kid was designed that way for artistic direction. Kinda a jab at Ico's approach.
Porsche makes me think of that one episode from Two and a Half Men.
Night racing in the rain. Or how about racing in the snow w/ particle effects on and heavy wind? Hmm...
huh? he didn't mention another game did he? At 5.34 the guy in the video says ferrari damaged, too bad it's a blurry vid.
Holy S#it the 458 is in the game?! I wonder if the SLS was playable at TGS? My GOD that video looked 1000 times better than the GamesCom vid.
Edit: I like how when they switch to the view of the driver, you see the animation of the hands changing gears with the shifter paddles. Also, is it me or does the game look like it has a better sense of speed now?
Edit 2: you guys should check out the Ferrari replay vid that gamersyde has too. The car is so beaut...
I agree. It's difficult at this point to see how a controller-less design will work with the current genre of games we have. The only thing that seems to appeal to the controller-less design is the Wii-like games, and even so, the Wiimote has buttons. The developers can say all they want, but we also have to think for a moment if it means they'll be developing Natal games that are akin to the stuff we have now on 360 & PS3. It would be terrible to hear that they're jumping onto the ...
Dang look at those disagrees just cuz that guy never played a splinter game. SDF on the roll.
Can't wait for this. That gameplay screams awesome. Especially the hand-to-hand combat sequence w/ the guy's hand stuck with the knife in the end. Love the Tom Clancy games except for Hawx. Wish they'll make another Ghost Recon.
@above, guess you never played a splinter cell game before
^ bubbles for the pic. Man I would drop $450 for a white slim. I have a launch PS3 and I hardly use the PS2 bc ever since I finished Persona 4, so I don't care too much for bc atm. But a White slim w/ Lightning on it. I'm down for that.

Geez it's quite a pretty thing.
Sony does report numbers sold as "sold to consumers" and not shipped.
Where's the truth to it? Well there are links above. Also, KOTAKU reported that Sony counted sold-to-consumer numbers. Now we all know how Kotaku's like. =P

Also, congrats to Sony for releasing a console a year late, battling through a high-def media ...
Yea Last Guardian fills a niche market, and it won't sell great compared to the other games, despite the amount of quality going into it. It'll definitely be one of those games that you play, 10 years later, talk to some people about it and they'll be like "yea I remember .... it was so awesome" - just like how some people bring up Final Fantasy 3(6) and people can go on hours end making conversation about it.
It's too bad really, Sony introduces some pretty uniquely...
^ you're a grown up, use your head and your eyes to browse headlines for it, instead of asking around.
Hmm... Sony demo'd the motion controller's 1:1 to exemplify motion control in a strategy game aspect. I would like to see Microsoft use Natal's motion control in something like Halo Wars. Imagine using your fingers to select units, and using gestures to command moves. It'll be like minority report... for games.
Well they do have a lot of games in Japan that we have yet to see in the states, and no I'm not talking about the stuff we find out about from gaming sites like White Knight or Yakuza.
Well, it seems they could release it anytime.... but hey! They just got the SLS so that car's gonna have to be in the game. Companies could release games anytime they want... it's really up to you if you want more content, content as DLC, or a bug-free game. What's your pick?
^ True that... a long time ago when I was job hunting, I applied to a chemist position. When I got mail from HR, the HR lady wrote quemist. QUEMIST. This is a biotech corporate, and the HR lady didn't know how to spell chemist? QUEMIST? That tells you how much corporate peons know.
