probably not too bad, with a month's pay after taxes you can afford about 10 low end hdtvs and 1-2 high end ones. Most families I know nowadays have an hdtv or plan to fill up their bedrooms with one. Other people nowadays are more inclined to "donate" or throw away their hdtvs in favor of upgrading. You can google a bunch of pics of car collectors out there and their garages, and what you see in them are pristine looking cars - how they would've looked out of the dealership.

so if the chip isn't in natal and it's using 360 resources, can I just get a natal experience using the existing 360 camera or setup an IR camera of sorts?
The couple things I noticed were:
1) The glasses don't seem that special. Just normal 3D glasses I guess? Does this mean I don't need a "3D" tv since according to Sony, the PS3 can be firmware upgraded to show any game in 3D?
