I'm curious how many people have driven a souped up tuned Z and are credible enough to make a proper critique about the level of accuracy in the GT academy TT Z
maybe some people should really click and read the article. Obviously George Sears conveniently "forgot" to put matching after trouble in the headline, causing this whole "bragging" interpretation mess. Talk about selective reading.
people don't seem to understand that this is a TT for the gt academy and is no representation of GT5. 220mb file size already kinda sums up that a lot of assets from the game were taken out. Only necessity to assure a fair and accurate TT for the competition is the physics engine. They probably could've done w/o some of the other textures and shave off a couple mb here and there.
Afterall, isn't this download called Gran Turismo Academy? Not Gran Turismo 5?
hmm dchalfont's pretty reasonable with his analogies. bubs+
lawl. swaying hips and thrusting motions. hahahahaha
porting to the mac using the cider wrapper actually isn't that difficult. if anything, they'll make a decent little profit off little effort.
hey sorceror, I was under the impression that the drive got "locked" from the ban too wasn't it? I'm just glad I didn't do that mod to put a bigger drive in the system, especially after reading some that the mod doesn't really work with anything larger than 120g.
disagree? Come on Mr. Phantom Disagreer [that seems to pop up everywhere], you really can't believe that the media doesn't say those things about PS3 games do you? I know for sure the media isn't as quick to point out the same things about 360 games.
If they were truly unbiased, they would say a lot about the Reach trailer. Too dark, too blue, so gray, no colors. Hides a lot of details. But nope. The news is that it's all in-game and it's the second coming. Doesn't matter ...
well hey I don't mind if it's 200 mb. It's rather silly to download 2 gigs for 1 car 1 track. Even GTHD had more cars than that and in a smaller package. =)
I have a feeling these demos they keep giving us are just different builds at various stages of development of various features they were working on.
So I take it this build for the demo was probably for time trial and physics engine testing, sorta like how they had a build for just testing physics only in t...
man that's a sweet package
they could've just banned the id or they could've just released a new firmware update like they usually did. But nope. Console ban! If I were a pirate, I would rather pick up a cheap new arcade than to stare at my modded box and not be able to play any new XBLA, demos, or even stream anything from WMC. And shoot that sucked hard with MW2 coming out. The ban was perfect timing.
But hey! Bayonetta was out on the forums two weeks ago... so pirates are bound to stay and get o...
When a (PS3) game looks good, people find ways to discredit it.
It has no color. It's too brown. It's too black. It's too colorful.
There's no blurring. Oh too much blur. It's too clean, it must be CGI.
There is no damage. The damage is half-assed. The damage doesn't look great, Burnout is better.
FPS cover system is dumb. JRPGs are dumb, all about WRPGs. Fighting games are dumb.
60 fps? Oh but the textures are weak.
that's ... how ...
So I read the demo size is only like 200 some megs. Wouldn't it be kinda logical to think that may be the models, track detail, and whatnot are omitted so the demo could be that size? I mean. Afterall, it's really not a "demo" demo but more of a time trial for the GT academy thing, so its motive is really for players to compete against each other rather than showcase what the game may look like.
I was playing GTA4 a month ago and noticed.... the cars in that game have actual damage deformation. Not just hit the corner of the car and bam! a separate texture/model piece takes its place, but the actual model itself deforms. This being GTA4!
don't kid yourself. Even PC gamers would say this isn't that great. You gotta be crazy thinking I'm posting a delusion fanboy comment. I'm saying exactly what I'm seeing. Even MW2 on the 360 looks better than this. You guys shouldn't be accepting this kinda effort because if you do you're sinking to a new low. If anything, I want to see them put more into it and I know they can squeeze out more.
The only thing that's making me excited and looks great are the character mode...
I wanted to like Wii, but I got rid of it quickfast in its first year while it was still hot on eBay. The games are rehashes of older games. That's all the Wii has. Rehashes. Also accessories. Metroid Prime was the same GC game branded w/ Wii controls. The same goes for RE and Pikmin. Wii Sports then Wii Sports Resorts? Or what about Wii Fit and WiiFit Plus? "New" Super Mario Bros? Are they running out of originality or something?
The games are fun guys, bu...
What's really dumb is you know they're throwing awards away to certain games/people to appeal to the masses and for ratings. Awards to Rocksteady Studios? To hollywood celebs? Seriously? Hugh Jackman played a better male performance than the other nominees? And Megan Fox did a great job too? What a joke.
I was really disappointed with the graphics considering the media hyped the new engine to be mind blowing. But I was really excited over the spartans prepping up. Anyway, seriously guys ... even 360 MW2 looks better than the in-game graphics of that cutscene. Those vehicles are simply too low poly. You can spot it on the hog. It looks so archaic now considering we've got games with vehicles that are higher poly than that.
@rocklee: No way man. Even AC2 looks better than what...
What? AC2 won best adventure/action? No way. I beat that game two nights ago and it wasn't that great. Not much action. Not much adventure. More or less a cliched story line about a guy losing his family and seeking revenge. And then Desmond finds out the truth and goes W T F on us.
Seriously. A "best" adventure/action should be able to keep me off the edge of my seat and shouldn't make me feel bored one bit.
well from the look of the hd vids popping up, it looks like the textures are purposely low res. Even the crowd are 2D images. All to shrink it into a reasonable 200 some megs.
