Well the article says the PS3 os is now 50 mb shared across despite having many new features. Not bad I guess. There's Playstation Life thing, Home thing, that picture gallery viewer thing, printer support, and all this other stuff I don't use. I think I only use the PSN once in a while when a good demo is up, but hey animated dynamic themes are nice.
bloop is an example of someone playing too many arcade racing games. Never bothered to drive a car on normal tires and then pop on some racing performance ones huh? But I have I have says the anonymous bloop. Did you by chance floor the 370z too? Take a corner while slamming brakes? Just another bloke saying they can't drive in the TT because it feels like an ice rink, yet manages to be in the top 100.
It's sad that the media is comparing a 220mb piece of a game to a full two dvd game, blowing it out of proportion.
The masses are gonna think GT5 looks like crap and walk the other direction with this kind of "news"
Shows you how confident one game is to the other.
@above
from my understanding according to gtplanet, the physics modes available are arcade, pro, and sim ... and this competition demo is set at sim. But that's according to them so take it with a grain of salt.
@ dead
are you flooring the gas and braking during turns? This demo is for the competition. It has all assists off and the physics mode is set to sim. Try driving it like a real car. You don't floor a 370z at 2nd gear while doing a corner ...
well obviously the assists are off. It's a freakin competition afterall.
i've come to the conclusion we won is the greatest comedian on n4g. Anyway, you guys having a hard time spinning out etc should try flooring a 370z on 2nd gear while making a turn. Like others have said, take it slow like you're driving a real car and you'll figure it out. Best w/ the G25 though. I wonder how much my time will improve w/ it. I'm currently at 1:38 w/ the tuned Z on the DS3 and very anxious to play on the wheels.
Anyway the dbag on destructoid isn't even playin...
she looks like she's aging a lil too much to be wearing that kind of outfit. even the character herself stopped wearing that outfit when she got older in the anime.
@Alpha-Male22
if they put cheaper materials to make their products, why is it til now they still can't remedy the RRoD issue? They're cheaper materials. Could it be they're not as reliable too? Certainly spending less on shoddy material had cost them more than if they had spent on much more higher quality materials.
Frankly, they have not made much more for spending little. If anything, Nintendo is the one to reap the rewards w/ their re-hashed GC + motion cont...
I wonder which end of that wand has the vibrating motors. ;-)
Just played it myself (downloaded off the UK PSN) and the graphics are worse than GT5p. Granted, this was a 220 mb file. Installed, it was still 220 mb.
What intrigued me was the physics felt better than in prologue. You could sense the bumps on the pavement like what someone said before. They made better use of the in-cocpit view so it felt much more like being in a car, and the perspective seemed different. Viewing left or right had a more sense of depth than before (e.g. ...
oh eff that. That's what I hate about "episodes" because surely they're gonna charge us $9.99 for it and it'll be less gameplay than Gay Tony.
What are they gonna do? Shaft us with three different stories/characters regarding the killer and then give us the ultimate experience in form of dlc? I wouldn't mind if I could somehow trade in the game AND dlc for my money's worth but sadly you can't do that with dlc.
Reminds me of EA when DAorigins came out...
the sad thing is the PS3 is at $300 now but consumers will see it as "oh well it's been several years, the other consoles are cheaper. Why isn't the PS3 at their price point? It's a video game console afterall."
Not many consumers look at the back of the box to see what it has in comparison to other offerings. Especially women! Ok that sounds sexist, but when I was taking a wine course taught by a female professor, she stated the market found that men and women equa...
well they said the Go was targeted towards people newly adopting a PSP, so.... that's probably a reason for low expectations.
Testing out the waters of the digital download era I suppose....
Maybe that's why it got such great ratings. /s
but seriously... what the hell? That was the most random thing I've seen in a "hack-n-slash" game.
"Whether you like it or not, the SMC and Natal really can't do much at this point to dethrone the Wii as the console to go to for motion controls."
You know, I agree with you on this, but your post reminded me of something. There weren't really any "working" games that Sony demonstrated using the SMC. Aside from the RE5 test, that was about it. I would be quite surprised if Sony is really bringing SMC to the hardcore crowd and using it as a supplement (or rath...
@pimp
bubs+ for taking the effort to pointing one out
I don't really remember all of Indigo Prophecy much, but I think i recall the cutscenes in the game were all in-engine. Truly fantastic game though.
I remember when people were saying how KZ2 looked so great, but yet other people criticized it and said the graphics were actually piss poor. They said the low lighting, darkness, and muddy colors were used to hide the crap graphics that KZ2 had.
So can we say the same about every other game, cutscene, and trailers we've seen out there that are dark and devoid of any color? It only seems fair.
now if only it gets proper marketing...
Yea they load up a lot of features which are nice, but I suppose it's more catered to the home-media-centric crowd. I haven't loaded up Home for a long time. I see no point. It would be better if it was more integrated but to do so would've been taxing. Maybe if they made it more simplified it would've been more integrated into the system as a whole and robust.
I do use the XMB a lot though, more so to check what trophies I need to get and to message people while in a game. ...
