Yeah you can just pull the HDD out of the old models and stick it in the slims. It's really easy actually. You can also spend $5 and get one of the MS HDD ...

Walmart just had the 4GB's for $150. Grabbed one to replace my old 360. Plus you can use the original HDD's in the slims if you're up to it.

The point is, not who *wants* to make money (because you're right, everyone does), but who wants to make money and sell out their main fanbase? (in the 360's case, their hardcores)

...and if you take a look at current gaming trends, the money is with easy to produce casual titles. Nintendo's doing it, and while they've been criticized for ignoring their hardcore market they're rolling in the dough.
Even Sony's guilty of it, however they've got a handful of hardcore-developers working on franchise titles and "adding" Move support, rather than only building casual-friendly Move titles (ie. what MS is doing with Kinect).
I've read it's much better. Looks more dynamic too.
I think Gears would flop on the PS3. Their AAA market is too saturated right now, and people will most likely buy the Sony exclusives first, then the good multiplats.
Oh I know, that's the first place I played it.

You forget, I play for the games. And PS3 at launch was terrible, the 360 mopped up.
Now the tables are turned. How could a true gamer like myself ignore titles like Uncharted, Killzone, God of War, etc.?
