Some console games (God of War) I would never want to play on a PC. Some PC games (Command & Conquer) I hate playing on consoles. To say we should do without one platform or another is just plain ignorance.
Consoles may hold back gaming graphically, but they make gaming more accessible bringing dollars into the industry which can be re-invested into other games. PC gaming often gives birth to incredible console titles, ie. ...

Too bad it'll probably flop given it's small release range. Launch it for PC and PS3 (maybe even 3DS store?) and I'd expect bigger sales.

Yeah, QORE definitely beats the wannabe-gamer shows on the XBLive. I can only watch Sgt. Nelson make a douche of himself so many times.

Be intimidated by it. EVE is just one of those games. If you really want to get into EVE drop every other game you're playing, and focus solely on it. Check out the EVE university, join a noob corp and see what happens.
Keep in mind though, no matter what anyone tells you EVE is not a casual experience and will require more gaming ability than practically any other game.
EVE is so epic, but like any drug I have to enjoy it from a distance.
