I want to know how remastered it is before I plop the cash. Dare I say it didnt get into it first time around and gave up. Deffo need to give it another go but I will not be dropping the cash unless its been really well made over. I dont expect infamous levels but if it is only a marginal improvement I wont be too hyped.
I do understand the engine is cross gen though. And I remember them saying they built the assets in much higher quality than they are shown in game so maybe....
Ai can absolutely in theory be done in the cloud. How it will play though is another matter. The big problem there is quality, different people will get different experiences based on their internet connection quality and isnt the point of consoles to give all users a consistent experience?
You have to consider if Ai was totally online would a single player game feel right if the baddies etc were chopping about a bit like the do in an online game. You expect it in a multiplay...
@Dewitt
you are being a little disingenuous there. You will only double your frames if your game loop was CPU limited in the first place. There are two things to take into consideration with frame performance CPU time (object movement, AI etc) then GPU time (Render the scene, light it, make it look pretty with AA etc). Different games have different demands. Some need a ton of CPU time per frame, for others its almost irrelevant as its all about GPU time. Different games sche...
slick. Its a shame we wont be running scenes like that at 60fps on anything thats not a serious pc rig
yeah, I dont regret it too much as I was getting worried about the number of hours the family was taking out of my ps4s lifespan by playing netflix/lovefilm(amazon)/dvds etc on it. Having said that the xbo is complete overkill to solve that problem. A smart blu-ray player would have done the job. Having said that I am enjoying Titanfall and will enjoy the other exclusives as they drip out.
Got both already
ps4 is the "mine" and does the bulk of gaming.
xbo is for everyone and does xbo exclusives only and media.
I had switched to google play all access but might switch back to spotify if it becomes easily available through my surround system I have to say!
Map size has become a dick wagling contest. And like dicks its what you do with it that counts.
The thing is there is a difference between maxed out and optimal.
Maxed out simply means that for each frame that is generated the CPU and GPU are processing something right up until the point where the image is displayed. If for instance a new frame is displayed every 0.1 seconds but the code to generate that frame takes 0.05 seconds the system is only 50% maxed out. Its quite normal that the cpu/gpu will actually do 0.1 seconds of processing, display the image then 0.1 of p...
Simcade - I do believe I coined that genre here and now.
Indeed. We have lots of ex-game devs come into the "normal" software world because of the pay, working conditions etc.
I remember back when I graduated and they print all the awards in the paper. There were 3 times as many students graduating computer games development as there were computer science. Now given the size of the respective industries (games vs every other software including line of business etc) its no surprise the pay is low and they are worked hard. ...
@Neonrider, Indeed. Its generally believed in psychology that it stems from an insecurity and lack of confidence in their own opinion.
He is being slightly disingenuous here. There are a number of ways to feed a vr headset with a quality image.
moving to a native res of 720x1280 would produce a total render of 1.8 million pixels per frame.
thats in contrast to a 1080x1920 single frame render at nearly 2.1 million pixels per frame.
I know all the fanboys go mad at 720 vs 1080 but the real world, viewing difference is not *massive* and once the sensation of depth via 3d is add...
ta will try.
They say that but from my one weekend with it I dont see the point. Its not reliable enough. Certainly when kids etc are shouting at the same time.
outside of

i.e. simple one chain comands it just doest work. using it to try and pick something from netflix for example is just a pain and you get fed up and just use the controller.
I concur. I am mainly a ps4 guy but picked up an xb1 as a second system. The console is is buggy as hell but tf is awesome. At this point in all fairness while yes it has its issues I couldn't see it running on psn as I dont think Sony or ea have the tech. Having said that its not only ms that can do azure servers. Many of the big cloud operates use it behind the scenes so respawn could in theory build a private cloud on the same tech for a future PlayStation version.
I have kids and just got a titanbone as the second system. TF is bloomin awesome. Xbo is a litte ropey for my liking. Wouldn't want it as my main gaming system thats for sure.
maybe its just me but I found the cost of kids is just offsets the money you save by not ever getting to go out.
Regardless got a titanbone bundle coming tomorrow as a second system for the exclusives. Looking forward to seeing what the hype is with tf and catching up on the other exclusives that have been out. Then back to the ps4 for mg and infamous.
@aiBreeze, I decided to try and cancel the order. I managed to find a hidden away phone number for them but that just goes to an answerphone. Hopefully they will get back to me but if not I will order from elsewhere on Thursday and fight about the return with them if they decide to send it after all.
I cannot believe, given how big they are in the US how they behave. They literally seem to operate like a dodgy ebay trading company. And thats a discredit to many fine companie...
24 frames works with filmed content because there is a natrual motion blur on the frames. If you had "perfect" frames at 24 fps it looks stuttery. The motion blur tricks in the brain into thinking the animation is actually smoother than it is.
There was a tech demo using some starwars game a few years back where they showed rendering in motion blur at 30fps was as good to the eye as a pure 60fps.
edit: I was looking for the original artical that ex...
