Resolution doesnt really matter. But its sure something to geek out about. What else are we going to do for the next month anyway??? :o)
Similar is a subjective term though ;-)
Looks great ... oh wait its an XBO game? looks awful! look at the framerate of those screen shots boo boo boo
</Joke>
I dont think anyone would say that 720p will hurt or ruin the game. I think what this really is about though is more than the game in question. Its about the message that people are being asked to pay more for a weaker system. This is the kind of thing that causes me to take a step back and avoid the XBO at launch and see how it plays out over the next few months. It just builds up a concern that its not quite up there. Yes the average buyer wouldnt notice the difference but for geeks like me...
Just crossed me mind...
At least with the ps4 there is nothing to stop you (if you don't mind the hack) getting some HDD cable extensions and housing a massive desktop spec drive externally. This could work where the ps4 is away in a entertainment center or something but I suspect needing the lid off at all times wouldn't appeal.
I am sure xbox one will be "fine". I am letting the one friend I know buying one test it out for me :o)
Most likely will pick one up Feb/March as the second console.
"The ps is made for gamers by gamers" lol
They are both out for a profit. The difference is Sony is happy just to profit a bit in the games sector with a bit of extra value from media rental etc. At this point Sony just want to survive. They are all out to please because if the ps4 isnt an all out success this gen it could be the end of it.
MS on the otherhand is not happy with the gaming space. It was only ever a stepping stone onto something much ...
Lets be realistic though at 50GB a game and say 50GB system reserve thats still 9 games installed at any one time. I dont think many of us will be activially playing 9 AAA games at the same time. One or two maybe with one or two go to onliners installed ready and waiting? Having said that for PS4 my worry will be space for keeping those + games that I want to go back to at some time. Deffo want to opt for a 2TB sooner than later on that one.
If this actually worked in the uk I might be interested. They openly admit its going to be some time before it will though, if ever. I would love to pick one up but just can't justify it given that none of these added value features will actually work. This is crazy considering the uk is like the second Xbox strong hold. How to ruin your market share overnight.
Yeah I agree if the XBO somehow ends up looking better ... well... games a afoot. Fanboys can do their arguing but those who understand tech simply know the CU and bandwidth deficit should never make anything look better on the weaker system. Dice cannot do voodoo.
If he is showing single player XBO footage and multiplayer PS4 footage we might be surprised to find that the XBO footage is the better. Maybe that's what he is hinting at there? Seems everyone is assuming he means the ps4 version is better but if that were the case why would we be surprised? Hear me out here - From what I have seen on the PC the single player looks significantly better than the multiplayer as is often the case on games. We would need to see like for like scenarios to rea...
"If I didnt know better I would think it was a ps3 game" - Said the man who was well overdue is eye exam.
I mean really.....???
If he were saying that about knack or COD or something I would say fair enough but not KZ it looks stunning graphically. And this is from a guy who historically didnt like KZ.
yup I thought that. googled it and indeed it was. Didnt realise he was English either (wiki). Half of the cast of the wire seem to be!
ouch. The engine is showing its age there. I would almost dare say that looks like a very good xbox 360 game.
This is absolutely true. I have 5/6 casual friends who are getting a ps4 at launch or plan to in the first six months who were all 360 gamers because they are following me across as "the one who knows about this stuff"
The KZ idea of sending off your robot flying thing seems quite a nice intuitive use of it.
throwing grenades in a direction thats not the cursor is another option.
Time will tell if devs can come up with intuitive ways of using it that dont feel bolted-on. I know the inFamous stuff sounds gimmicky.
Its all about context though. Compared to the ps3 and 360 they are almost identical. Compared to a wii u and ps4 they are almost identical.
It all depends how wide his view is when he makes the comparison I guess.
I am talking architecture btw.
i.e. 360 and ps3 are very different. ps4 and one are not. architecturally.
hands up I want it but... I have re-preordered and cancelled a one about 4 times in the last month. I just cant justify it for the exclusives at this point given that multiplats and friends will be on ps4.
I am praying the ps4 version isnt less players because its not got the cloud servers.
Just dont start any rumors about what the native resolution if for F sake. :o)
