What game were doing with the Xbox one where all they had available was console + 4 odd games + controller + movies was just criminal cashing in.
Not good karma game. Not good karma.
They might think they are smart exploiting peoples desperation but what goes around comes around and their brand ultimately suffers (at least to me).
People like to say devs are lazy. This is never the case. Devs do the best jobs they can and beyond given the environment and time constraints but onto them by their respective businesses.
The esram is uses for the back buffer. If you imagine that the image on screen is painted onto a canvas. While you are viewing one canvas another canvas is being painted into. This canvas is the esram. So the esram offers better performance than writing the back buffer back to the ddr3 when readying it to be pushed to screen. The issue is all the teztures, light maps etc still need to be read from the ddr3 so you will always feel the bandwidth limits of the ddr3 in one way or another. You wil...
Anyone that understands tech understands exactly why it cannot be make backwarda compatible.
Remember though guys comparison to pc performance is not that relevant as console overhead is no where near the pc (ignoring mantel). It is what it is but ill take killzone like graphics attached to a quality game please.
And they were only focusing on tv in the us and japan... boom this all makes sense. They f**cking knew... they are selling the xbox one in the eu under a false promise surely???
Thought - They have been producing 1 million units a month since when Aug odd was it they annouced production? They say they have sold 1 million in 24 hours but now you cannot get one pretty much at all (uk) note- not without paying silly 4 game + extra pad + multiple movies bundle prices.
That would suggest that they have at least 2-3 million units sitting somewhere. They are either drip feeding or they have not been producing 1 million units a month.
This w...
You have to hand it to them (touch wood) their launch has been pretty painless.
Was very tempted to scout around this morning for remaining stock but still couldn't justify it yet. 3/4 must have exclusives and ill jump in :)
Ah dont tease me ipking.
The extra cost is tax dodging on amazons part though. While I use them a lot you have to consider they avoid uk tax then pay workers a low wage which is topped up in benifits and tax credits that are paid for by the tax payer. They are not alone mind.
I recommend shopto. They use dpd who have never failed me yet.
Just need to wait for iptv
I actually suspect 40 would be quite a nice sweet spot between smoothness and fidelity.
The issue is the frame rate needs to mathematically fit the refresh rate of the screen.
If the screen is running at 100hz you want to be putting out 25,50 or 100 fps.
I might be wrong but I think the whole 60fps thing just comes from the fact that most NTSC tvs used to run at 60hz, UK ones was 50 but I think everything is international now.
Even so many are 120hz etc which 60 fits into, i.e. 2 refreshes per frame displayed.
Being an old git I know for a fact that DOAs are just part and parcel of launch systems. My launch PS2 lasted about three levels of SSX. It took Sony 8 weeks and about 8-9 attempts to replace it (They would agree a day to come and exchange it then never showed). My PS3 died within a few months. My 360 lasted about 2 1/2 years so that was a bonus lol.
When they ship a brand new console they expect a day one failure rate of anything from 1-4% traditionally. With manufacturing g...
Not to even get into the fact there are 1024 bits in a kilobit etc and not a square thousand etc.
@Walter,
not strictly true, its to do with the way that the data is sent or used.
When things are talked about in bits, such as the internet its because data is sent one bit at a time, the line can only be in one of two states on or off aka 1 or 0.
If the communication mechanism could sent a whole byte in one state e.g. 10101010 then its speed would be talked about in bytes.
This is the real reason though things have been con...
I am a bit lost why you need to put linux on your ps4 to make games? Good for you though. Your best bet is unity. Most of us in the indie community are loving it ar the moment. 4.3 is a godsend for 2d development.
This is why I paid the balance on mine a while back. Released here on the 29th and xard expires a day later. Wasnt taking the risk.
I have the pc version maxed out and it looks good. But not that good. Its certainly not that demanding so I can see it running nicely on ng.
From the UK I have to agree. I understand they did 150k week one. This will be to the diehard. Until xmas you are going to see them sell pretty much whatever they can deliver but I think after that point we will start to get a feel for where the market is going.
While if you take a snapshot of "gamers" you will find an overwhelming bias for the ps4. However you have to remember that amongst the lay masses (the year one, year two adopters) there will be a lot of foll...
