The most important quote from this article is this:
Still, a loss is a loss, and the fact that Nintendo have never done this before means they must be in trouble, right? Wrong. Buried in reams of financial data is the revelation that Nintendo have 812.8 billion (£6.7 billion) in the bank - enough for it to take a 20 billion loss every year until 2052.
So, like them or not, even if the worst happens, Nintendo's gonna be here for at least another 40 ye...
The fact that if you go by Metacritic, the 3DS has 3 games rated 90% or higher while the Vita currently has none.
And the highest rated title on the Vita is Rayman Origins - a game already available in better definition on the main consoles, and it's coming to the 3DS soon too...
What a trolling post.
This is Nintendo's first loss for 30 years. Loads of companies would love to be in their position.
The PS Vita launched with 30 games. The 3DS has far more than that, otherwise how could my Nintendo magazine have a "Top 50 3DS games" column?
And of course PS VITA owners would like the console more than the 3DS. They're Sony fanboys who rushed out and bought the system day one.
Finally,...
Best tech doesn't equal best games.
Never has. Never will.
If having the best tech meant anything, a PS3 game would be the highest rated game this gen - but guess what?
The highest rated game is Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii - the weakest console of the three.

Similarly, on Metacritic, the 3DS has 3 games rated 90% o...
The 3DS has suckish sales? Wha?
The 3DS has sold 15 million worldwide, selling faster than both the DS and the Wii, and breaking all hardware records in Japan.
Just because they patented something, doesn't mean they'll do anything with it.
Remember the Wii teddy bear? Me neither. Yet they patented that idea too, along with a Wii Skateboard and a Wii crash helmet. Look if you don't believe me!

I'm a 3DS owner, and while the Vita doesn't appeal to me, I'd be the first to admit that the 3DS launch games were terrible.
Of course, this was due to Third Parties telling Nintendo that they couldn't compete with Zelda and Mario. So, Nintendo delayed their big tiles, giving the Third Parties a launch window, and.... they failed to step up to the plate.
The first reason is good, but Google exists for a reason.
The rest is a bit weird. As for the idea of ditching the new controller and going back to yet another redesigned Wiimote and a redesigned nunchuck... Wha???
IGN gave it 8/10
Just saying...
Turns out, it was the Japanese conference with English subtitles.
I still maintain that the 3DS doesn't need the circle pad. I think it will be an add on just like the rumble pak, the wii balance board, etc. Used for a handful of games and then forgotten.
I'll be amazed if 10 games use it by the end of the year.
Nintendo made it in order to get MH on their system. That's it. The fact that it's difficult to find proves it.
And I thought the circle pad pro was bulky.
The thing is, when Nintendo previously redesigned consoles, they were making a lot of profit on them. The 3DS is being sold at a loss - I'd assume they want to at least break even before ploughing even more cash into a redesign.
My guess is this year will be all about the Wii U.
Well, if they want to rain on the Vita's parade, the things that would do it would be...
Call of Duty 3DS.
Monster Hunter 3DS exclusive - not coming to any other formats.
It will probably just be the new name for the Wii U or a purple 3DS.
Well, the most obvious use I can think of would be using the extra screen as a rear view mirror.
I was talking to a casual Wii owner that just plays Wii Fit today about the Wii U.
They went from being disinterested to Sold when I told them that the extra screen will allow them to view their weight without other family members looking in.
No big surprise - Dragon Quest X for the Wii/Wii U was already announced....
And in the actual interview, they referred to the game Rhythm Heaven as an example of something that doesn't need a deep level of graphics, while something like Zelda clearly does.
Still too expensive....
Pachter always gets it wrong when it comes to Nintendo.
"The Wii is doomed" - it actually sold 95 million.
"The original price of the 3DS is too cheap" - they had to price drop to get sales started.
"The 3DS can't compete with smartphones" - it is now breaking hardware sales records in japan.
"The Wii U is doomed" ....
