Hey Dynasty - I agree with you somewhat, but I think the issue is the "Screenshot" effect.
A game in motion is nearly impossible to pick out the details vs. a still image.
Load your nicest looking PC game, crank up the details, take a screenshot, open it up. You may be surprised.
Even your point about GTA 5... I thought the same thing, but after spending time taking some pics/observing the game at 0 mph (versus 185 mph)... it is v...
I'm the only person on the face of the planet who might actually be interested in this. Somehow, I've never had the chance to play RE4...
But... your point is valid... I will wait until a Steam sale has this priced closer to $3.
Games for Windows did a terrible job... but, GTA IV was actually surprisingly stable once this was bypassed.
@ FlyFox - agreed 100%... GFWL was TERRIBLE and it was responsible for nearly every "bug" in GTAIV PC.
Steamworks is ideal.
But, I'm curious, you said "at the very least" - from a commercial standpoint, what would be a better option than Steamworks? Aside from releasing the source files and letting everyone have their way with it.
Wow... unbelievably long, sad, uneducated string of assumption based comments. Is this all based on the Alpha leaks? Or is it based on all of you pretending to understand how cloud based processing can be applied in near-real-time? Or have you all managed to magically play Titanfall?
I'm not saying it will be good or bad... frankly, it reminds me of Call of Duty a bit, which is a huge turn-off. However* it looks pretty unique, with a lot of room to grow.
...
I've been having a ton of fun just approaching random people and convincing them I won't shoot... hahaha...
You'd be surprised how much fun it is to drive around with someone who has spent their entire GT Online career shooting at other people immediately.
It's also a really good way to build up a solid 5-6 people and start playing missions. Everyone stays in the lobby.
Now that's it has been cleaned up a bit, once they add heists/casinos - you should jump in! Incredibly stable now. No dead rooms. No dropped sessions.
It's a hell of a lot of fun once you hit the higher levels/have 6 figures to play with.
Yeah, agreed 100%... from an objective standpoint, you can't falter it much (outside of the GTA Online issues, which ultimately stem from innovation and doing something that no one else in the industry can pull off).
From a subjective standpoint, one could argue that it's not a great game. And that's fine. But, consumers have spoken, and based on the almighty dollar - your negative opinion loses to GTA V DLC and GTA VI... sorry!
@gcolley
Yes - everyone has an opinion. If everyone's opinion was taken seriously and without falter there would be complete World peace and debates would never occur.
My opinion in this case stems from the fact that GTA V was one of the most technically brilliant games ever developed. The time, money, detail and creativity that went into it is unbelievable. It also smashed sales records beyond anything else that has ever been released in any entertainme...
I think they learned that the gaming industry is filled with a bunch of whiny, impatient consumers who don't appreciate innovation.
And that's not a good thing!
"Let's just give them more of the same because we know it will work!"
RDR on PC would be sweet.
Not even top 50?
Sorry bro - but 2013 was tough to even come up with a top 25. And if you don't think GTAV is a top 3 purely from a technical achievement standpoint... well... you'd be wrong.
But, hey, maybe you'll get an 'Agree' somewhere down the line.
Dude, your "11 year old"? ... "on the couch for hours"?...
I'm a dad too, so, I truly thought you were kidding.
My apologies!
Agreed. Sadly... but, you are 100% correct.
Hahahhhahah... man, I hope you are joking. There are so many things wrong with that short statement.
Wow! A whole lot of crazy generalizations! 12 year olds and drug addicts play CoD? I thought it was just people with low enough IQs to not realize they were purchasing the exact same game every year.
Question: "Should you care?"
Answer: "No, absolutely not. No one should care at all"
Seriously, CoD Ghosts should be the last game in the series. They should be forced to innovate. Raking consumers over the coals by re-launching the S...
Well, I played the Xbox One version and compared it to the 360 version (on the same TV)... if you asked me to drop $500 on a next gen system, I'd put my wallet away and just spend that on the 800 series GPUs from Nvidia.
I'm sure that at some point in the near future, games will come out for Xbox One and PS4 that are significantly better - but, until then, I'll remain patient.
This is a somewhat pointless comparison... the devs clearly didn't spend anytime optimizing the game beyond a 1080P option.
The same could be said for CoD: Ghosts on Xbox One & PS4...
It clearly wasn't worth the time/energy to put any serious dev time into the PC version of MGR. It does the job.
100% "Agree" votes... ding ding.
Yep. It's almost a function of your imagination.
Last night I setup on a mountain and started taking these RIDICULOUSLY long range shots at a guy who was pissing me off.
As he sped away in his Adder... I popped him with the sniper rifle. Easily 1+ miles away, if not 2+. Furthest shot I've ever made before. I've taken out numerous jet/copter pilots at distance... this guy was about 30 pixels at full zoom.
So rewarding, for no rea...
