@stuna
I think I made my point. You on the other hand, tried to make 17 points in some incoherent venting session.
Focus, son. Try not to spew a decade's worth of fanboy bullshit to me in a single comment. Got to learn to space that shit out.
@bathy
I'm not trying to speak for "all" of any group or a corporation. I'm not sure why you took it to Halo when that is the one game no one can say that ...
Seems to have done pretty well according to reviews (both critic and user).
@stuna
Close your eyes and pretend it's some time between 2013-2017 (up to the time of the X release).
Now read your fanboy rant again and enjoy the irony with me.
(And I know it's the weekend, but that's no reason to skip a dose of adderall.)
I feel like a lot of the problems would be fixed if they just said "deep dives into individual gameplay will be shared in seperate videos where we can really show things in detail. For now, we want to give fans of a variety of genres a look into what we have coming." Then do your little 1-2 minute trailers and release more vids on your media channels later.
I would have tossed Greenburg a long time ago myself. I have to believe he's really good at something e...
They really have to sit down and either show the games running on Series X or hand the console over to DF or somebody to go through each game.
Showing off on PC doesn't bother me much, but when you don't know if your PC or console are comparable to what's being used, you really don't don't know what you're getting.
Is it? I'd say we've known that once Fallout 4 and 76 failed to outdo New Vegas.
Even with a fraction of the budget, Outer Worlds was better than 4 imo.
Hell, I'd say Stick of Truth was better than what we got from Bethesda this gen. Unless we see ID Software in the credits and it'sjust published by Bethesda, how can we really defend much of their overall output this gen?
Can we really blame devs nowadays for not wanting to show off gameplay of games still in development?
I think the media and many, many gamers have proved that they lack the maturity to appreciate that games change throughout development. When we're not screaming downgrade on games from top devs like CDPR, we're counting blades of grass or mud physics.
There reaches a point where gameplay has to be shown imo, but the mob attacks over every little ...
I watched the stream, and remember specifically seeing some lacked the Xbox One tag. That stood out to me and I laughed because I felt like that should shut up the people over exagerating the "1-2" year cross gen talk. As in, no shit not all of their studios are making games that are hitting in the next 18 months.
So I take it the website listed them differently after the show or what?
Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
People criticize them for not showing reason for long term investment in their system, but how do you do that without showing games in the pipeline. People criticize them for not having "next-gen only" games, but now that's another broken promise?
Double standards and unreasonable expectations are one thing, but you guys need to get your own complaints in order before calling foul here.
Oh I get it. A lot of people are 100% caught up in full next gen hype right now, but it might be time to come back to reality a bit.
Halo's graphics didn't blow anyone away, but it certainly didn't look as bad as some are trying hard to push. I've also seen MANY comments from people who know nothing about Halo talking about LOD on grass and brake lights on the "vehicle." Are we serious, guys?
But Halo's less-than-stellar...
I'll reply down here so that it's not lost in the mob pile. I have many things to say about the delusions of fanboys, Xbox fanboys included. You're absolutely correct that those fanboys who think that Xbox is going to miraculously out-Sony Sony are very much lost.
They should expect to see exactly what they're seeing: A strong case that Gamepass is going to continue to be their focus; their new studios will bring some much needed quantity, quality, and d...
Thank you. It's the same thing every day. These expectations are borderline delusions at this point.
I wasn't disappointed in Halo or any of the games shown (except for lack of more details on some). I'm also not drinking the "next-gen omfg!" over hyped koolaid people seem to want to fool themselves into chugging.
We will slowly see some decent jumps in fidelity over the next several years, but we're not getting this enormous lea...
Same boat. I fully understand most of the complaints, but I can't be upset that I got what I wanted.
If you climb into my Warthog and expect there to be any brakes being used, you can just walk your ass across the map now, cause that's not happening. We quite literally will ride or die.
Sony will almost definitely outsell Xbox. I look forward to playing the next round of PS exclusives. But I will almost definitely play Infinite for 1000 hours+ again too.
All good.
Graphically it looks like a game that is designed to scale across all kinds of PC and console hardware. From what they're saying, they want this to be out there competing in that MP space for a long time. So it makes sense.
They should have had the ray tracing update ready to go. That's a misstep imo.
I get that the vistas and FOV were important to show off, but like your comment highlights, that fine detail is more of a focus for a lot of peopl...
Watched it in 4k60. There's pop in, especially on those huge vista shots, but over all pretty crisp and smooth.
"Gaming is also indicating as a contributing factor to a 12% increase in gross margin for the More Personal Computing business, leading to a $532 million (15%) profit growth for the segment as a whole."
You're probably better off going to the full report rather than just this article to see all segments (plus the video ads on there are garbage). But based off of the home compute segment numbers, and MS as a whole, shareholders are very happy.
Exactly. Once you upgrade it becomes moot just like when we upgrade from PS4 to PS5. Like PS4s, I see the One S sticking around as a budget option for several years to come.
I personally hold onto my old systems and add them to the collection. If you're inclined to sell to put money toward next gen, look at the stupid price jumps on the SAD and X right now on Amazon and ebay. Now might be a good time to sell if you're thinking about it.
Xcloud should be upgraded next year to Series X
https://www.theverge.com/20...
They also intend to upgrade with PC hardware to support streaming of PC games.
There really isn't much. Expect heavy reliance on 3rd party games from both.
Also expect the full impact of the covid situation to not fully hit the games market for a few more months. Schedules and release dates are in for a huge upheaval imo.
