My problem with it is why can't EA swing these games through Live, or PS+? Plenty of EA games have been on PS+ Instant Game Collection. Another $30 out of pocket for a subscription that could and should have been included in another service. That's my view of it anyway.

That depends. Like most Sony related things, PS Now will probably take years to evolve into an accepted service, same way PS+ did; and that ended up sky rocketing. If Sony can offer even half of their PS1/2/3 back catalog and make the connection smooth it will be an awesome service.
Funny how MS fans are now suddenly in love with EA. I personally don't find an association with EA as something to brag about. Anyways, I'm sure, SURE, that Sony didn't reject this option lightly. If it had of made business sense and would have made them money, they would definitely have taken it. In business there is no such thing as loyalty when a great opportunity for revenue is on the cards.

There is a difference between highest graphical experience and highest gameplay or story experience. My personal thing in gaming is a great single player campaign or story. There aren't many of them on PC compared to consoles.
The reason I want to see more is exactly because it left you thinking and I want to see more of these characters as the years have passed in that world.

Anybody have any opinions on what this game is like judging from the Alpha? I know it's only an Alpha, but what is the potential like? I'm in the fence about pre ordering it but will pick it up at some stage. Just wondering do I do that sooner rather than later.

That's actually not trolling, he is right. Microsoft have done everything possible so far to boost the image and ultimately the sales of X1. It doesn't seem to be working so far.
