That's not security that's control.
Would you voluntarily live in a prison because it was more secure?
Edited:
And I'd like to add this model is in use on cell phones already and that hasn't kept them from being hacked having private information stolen and being jailbroken ect. UWP WILL NOT make anything more secure. The only entity that benefits from UWP is Microsoft with consumers getting by far the shortest end of the sti...
There is a lot of value to this post regardless if it's new information from Microsoft. It shows that a lot of software developers are worried about the path Microsoft is taking perhaps even forcing.
The fact of the matter remains there is no need for UWP. Xbox and Windows Phone are completely capable of executing both win32 and win64 bit code. The only reason UWP even exists is to exert control and force people to use the Windows Marketplace. And thus far Microsoft h...
Excellent article.
I'm glad to see people in the industry are also concerned about UWP and it's openness.
Nah, replaying FF13 and the storytelling is just outstanding. And if you take the time to take in all the different art and textures and things as well as the minor details most people just blow by you'll find the game was lovingly crafted.
I also really like the way the game swaps party members and slowly teaches you how to play the game by gradually opening up new elements.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people who hate on FF13 haven't played it or d...
Oh the irony.
People will believe anything if it's what they want to believe. And that is 100% real.

I'd like that.
I got this game as a birthday gift. I hadn't even heard about it, but it became one of my absolute favorite PS1 games.
I personally think people are really getting ahead of themselves. A smaller die does not in anyway mean a more powerful PS4. Smaller die meant PS3 Slim last gen. Which was the same thing at a cheaper price. Though I remember people saying basically the same things last gen aka that it was going to be PS4 or a more powerful PS3.
Now I wouldn't be surprised if the new PS4 (if it even exists) has upgraded HDMI and even blu-ray for 4K output but I find it EXTREMELY unlike...
It's not 100% real untill Nintendo says it is.
Of course that's true. But if people had any common sense they wouldn't buy digital in the first place.
I don't think 7-8 years was too long to be honest. I thought it was a great length I got a great value from my purchase. I own over a hundred PS3 games and 60 or so for 360.
If they were to come out with a new system I think it would sell a lot less than people think. I can only say I'm not going to buy a new console anytime soon. And I highly doubt I would be the only PS4/Xbox owner who feels this way.
It was less than 500mb on PC so there honestly can't be that much to it.
I'd say Jim has very little to worry about. He did a review which is totally within his rights. I wouldn't be surprised if the case gets thrown out.
Looking forward to it. Hopefully I won't have to wait years for it to be in English.
He's mad because he has a lot of money put on Microsoft and he has for years been telling his investors to also put there money in Microsoft.
I would counter by saying what I have been saying for years. "Who cares what Michael Pachter says"
Pay to play doesn't mean there won't be micro-transactions or something.
It doesn't matter what the developers think.
All Microsoft has to do is make DX13 (or any needed .dll or other file) UWP only then any company who wants to make a modern game using the latest technology will have little choice but to use the Windows marketplace.
Of course this is right even if you don't like it. EA would be more than happy to only offer it's games on a digital or even cloud only based service where you own nothing and or don't even have a single file you can read.
We are at the beginning of the end.
Legal suits like that don't happen anymore, I wish they did but they just don't. Plus this is entertainment, the courts don't care.
You'll see, eventually they will use there control over the PC operating system market to force software developers to use UWP by making some system file dependent on it.
If I wanted money and control that's what I'd do. There is no way that isn't the end goal. If it wasn't then they could just s...
Not to cause an argument but Bread you're here every day defending everything Microsoft does and hyping up all their games.
You two are two sides of the same coin.
