Well I encourage you to look at who approved this and who voted for click bait and judge if those people some of whom are the most prolific and longest standing members of the community and judge for yourself.
My judgement is that this one should have gone to the trash and people should have been flagged for approving it as per the way this site generally works. And if this is a valid article then the people who clicked flamebait should have action taken.
C'mon man you have been here long enough to know the rules only apply to certain people. Regardless of the status of this particular article.

Well what about the rest of us who are smart enough to handle our own computer issues and don't need Microsoft to press the buttons for us? Why should we lose freedom just because other people are dumb?
Also his future is the present, it's Microsoft looking to change things. And they want to change things for their own selfish reason, not the greater good. And Microsoft has had it's share of microtransactions I mean you're talking about the company that gav...
This is pretty cool, while I have had my beefs with Neverwinter, STO is still a game I casually play.
I'd actually recommend people who like Star Trek and games to check it out. It's got a pretty interesting story especially the stuff written since Delta Rising which has pretty good writing (a lot of the older content has been rewritten too) and each "episode" really ties into the previous episodes of the given story arc. And STO is truly free to play. In ...
All I want to say is thanks for taking the time to actually read what I said. Whether you agree or not i'm just glad someone at least read and understood my point of view.
Poppinslops All I have to say is that clearly you haven't been reading anything about UWP if you haven't heard anyone else speak out about UWP because there have been many conversations on the issue.
And you must seriously be clueless if you think Microsoft is in anyway philanthropic. I encourage you to take the time to read about any number of lawsuits Microsoft has lost both in the U.S. and Internationally for anti-trust and monopolization as well as many other v...
Thanks for adding such an intelligent and well thought out comment. *rolls eyes*
Yes, the two sides are Microsoft VS consumers and software/hardware developers.
Also you can't demand an alternative because Microsoft has so much control over the industry already.
For example in my business which pays my bills even if I wanted to switch to linux I can't because a lot of the software I use only has Windows versions. And even if there was some impossible shift to linux because of UWP the cost of buying new software across all the...
Caedus that's the point though isn't it?
Microsoft's ability to potentially remove the choice... to force you to use UWP. By having control of the operating system they can make DX or any file UWP only, or stop supporting win32/64.
And to bring up Linux and Steam OS when Microsoft has basically 90+% market share VS Linux is just stupid. You knew flat out when you wrote that moving to Linux isn't just something you can just wake up one da...
Well Microsoft metaphorically speaking has been waging financial war on the PC industry for 40 years.
I fail to see how "what time" or "what military commanders would do" has anything to do with the discussion.
Nor does your dislike of Nintendo have anything at all to do with UWP.
I'd like to start by saying it's fact not conjecture that hardware doesn't natively work with UWD they have to alter the code of UWD to allow it work, if it worked natively SLI Freesync etc would work already, but they don't.
If someone is waving a gun in your face are you going to be happy just hearing them say "i'm not going to pull the trigger"? Is it conjecture to try to get them to stop and to move out of the way? No, it's called prot...
No Jim, the point is it shouldn't have been written in such a way that it even has the ability to limit G sync, Freesync, SLI, Crossfire or any hardware for that matter, or any of the other things it has been show to control.
And what about future tech?
Instead of just creating it, now you have to get Microsoft to Code UWP to allow your new tech to work because things don't work with it natively like they do with win32/64. And they aren't l...
The Trojan Horse was also given away for free.
I am certain you know less about programming than he does, and while he is concerned for all consumers for some reason (I assume finacial) you always call everything he says FUD.
But the truth is none of the other platforms you name interact directly with Windows operating system in any kind of way that is controlling. That is to say Steam for example has no ability at all to block the ability to use the hardware in your own PC like SLI or Crossfire or things like G Sync or...
The character wasn't really the problem. It was the stupid bland story Ubi wrote because they were scared to actually take any kind of opinionated stances on the story that might offend people.
Aiden wasn't bad, it was the whole stupid ultra-generic gotta save the family story they told.
I flat out do not understand why people support this company.
I mean first off their UWD is heavily limiting performance. There is absolutely no reason this game should require such high cpu specs and not offering multiplayer should insult people.
I'm not clicking disagree but, I do disagree with some things you said.
"DLC: that was likely going to happen either way with hard drives and connected systems. The idea of expansions was nothing new, but DLC offered a more streamlined and cost effective way of handling it. Publishers were more in charge here than the console makers, the console makers just enabled the publishers to do it."
Well Microsoft didn't invent expansions on game...
I disagree. Seganet was a very small thing, not many people especially in the US even knew Seganet existed. Microsoft is the worlds leader in both home and office PC operating systems. Microsoft was bringing there experience from PC/business networking to the console space.
Yea, I'm in the process of preparing to build a new computer. I'd really like to build an AMD computer again. My last two have been Intel/Nvidia. But if these reports are accurate I may end up just buying another Nvidia card.
