I own both and had the ps3 first. I got the ps3 for fighting games and online (dpad and got a TE fight stick for it). I also really like LBP.
I got the xbox for Geometry Wars 2. I've played it for ME/ME2, L4D, and Halo also. Quit putting words in my mouth.

Nintendo sold the NES to 7 year olds. They have existed their entire history selling to children. If you feel abandoned playing games similar to those on NES or SNES on wii you probably never owned either system.

Also keep in mind that beyond any profits gained from the xbox, it defends intrusion into the windows sphere. It keeps games in directx, a MS product, instead of opengl. Directx games can then be easily ported to xbox from PC and keep a MS foothold preventing opengl from chipping away at their operating system. The x in xbox refers to directx.
It also fights as the media pc HD consoles aspire to be. If sony won this sphere MS would face inroads to their windows market tho...

Dystopic empire facing rebellion by the party members is a common theme among them. I'm thinking FF3, FF7, FF13 at least.

I hope they use it for shooters. Wii FPS has worse graphics and fewer online players/voice support but I still choose it over both the other systems for COD cause of the aiming. People who complain about IR aiming will eat their words if they enable it on PS3.
