If they didn't call them achievements I would attempt them. Everytime I consider spending hours on a video game instead of working or reading and calling it an achievement I feel absolutely ridiculous.
Ignore that MH3 score. The game is great. Go read the review, when they say the item management is cumbersome and confusing you'll realize they can't manage inventory and a chest. That's right after they complain about the lack of lock-on in a game that emphasizes combat.

Monster Hunter 3 and Tastunoko vs Capcom are great games that just got released. Red Steel 2 is pretty awesome and was out this year, I traded in all my brawlers but Bayonetta and GOW cause RS2 makes crappy beat em ups obsolete. NMH2 doesn't have a huge budget but it got perfects from a lot of places (the first is better though). These are all top class games.

I bought my wii after not playing console games since n64/ps1 for punchout but picked up SMG on a whim. I played SMG first while waiting for a balance board and didn't get around to punchout for a month.
I understand that classification, but it's like calling Demon's Souls or Diablo 3rd person action, adventure. The story is minimal in each of them and there's no character input.

I like both games, but I can tell you why old FPS gamers think Halo and COD are for n00bs:
-Autoregen health
-Console stickyaiming/autoaiming to make up for dual analog's trash accuracy
-Killstreaks and grenades/n00btubing to make the game more chaotic and less skill based (yet they're played by the exact same people who criticize mariokart and SSBB for this reason)
-Battlerifle
-Watching full games empty in COD cause people suck so bad...
It's not only an insult to old school console gaming, it forgets doom, half-life, and quake and to a lesser extent unreal as the pioneers of FPS. Even Goldeneye belongs above Halo for proving FPS could work on consoles.
The only people who think these games feel dated never really liked them in the first place. I don't get how they can give sf4 high marks with a straight face while ripping on games like this and NSMB.

I know it's early, but I would kill to see Mass Effect 3. ME2 was incredible and is a much better designed game than the first, but the second in the trilogy always ends up slow. I want to see those mechanics in the final chapter with the epic story of the original!

I found a list of the top 20 best selling games of all time on wikipedia. Stuff like wii play is bundled, so just ignore it. I counted 4 unbundled mario platformers and 2 mario karts. It looks like 17 are Nintendo games, we got 2 Gran Turismos and one GTA, but I can't find Halo. Can you help?

Don't forget that R* worked the programmers like slaves. Hopefully it pays off but they really invested in the game. They will be very tempted to hedge that bet by influencing reviews.
I don't know why people read professional reviews, I wait and check amazon reviews a day or two in. Half the time if it was released somewhere else first an importer already posted.
