If you wanna talk about who did motion control gaming first the Powerglove and NES Track and Field win. Nintendo's first system experimented with motion control gaming and the same people who worked there then run it now.
a lot of people who aren't paid to code are talking here. educate yourselves about the cell architecture:

they don't want to pay the license fee for dvd. this is basically common fucking knowledge.
the fact you're the first person to mention starcraft 2 in the comments shows just how out of touch people on this site are.
i know people who own multiple systems and a handful of games who had that game day of release. it's not my style (I preferred Bungie's Myth: The Fallen Lords), but to leave that out of any list is absurd.
I never played NES metroid or Super Metroid. I was a Mario Junkie. So I bought them on the wii and I'm going through them for the first time =D
"Actually sir, the whole idea of what is considered ugly and what is not is situational and subject to personal opinion."
This was definitively disproven in the 80s when they started to control for lighting and other variables. You have a point but this part is wrong. It is definitively wrong in every way and shown to be in every psychological study since those variables were controlled for.

Why the Japanese prefer games made by the Japanese is a mystery we may never solve.
I can't respect people who substitute numbers for discretion. There are gameplay videos and neutral descriptions that anyone should be able to use to guess whether they like a game. Why they read reviews that only use 4 points of a 10 point scale is beyond me.
wii already has a huge lead. even if they slow down a lot it's outselling the other two consoles by hundreds of thousands. it is still selling more than the other two consoles, increasing it's already sizable lead and hence "pulling away."
note that a 1% increase in wii sales is much larger than 1% for ps3 sales cause the wii was already outselling the ps3. even if the ps3 doubles the previous sales (which it came close to at 76%) it still can't touc...
your argument assumes they had the money/inclination to buy the games had they not pirated them. most people pirate games they would have never purchased otherwise. while devs will lose some money, people will pirate anything that remotely interests them yet only buy titles they really want. so you can't assume every pirated game is a lost purchase.
The guy made Wing Commander, Deus Ex, Thief and several ultima games. His track record is why everyone is excited. Tons of studios who have nothing to offer compared to what this guy made get games hyped three times as much. He has made awesome games since the 80s.
"I can't run the new games and it's more fun playing games on my 42" 1080p with 5.1 surround sound"
in all honestly almost no games on consoles run in native 1080p and most big games don't even run in native 720p (cod, halo). even uncharted 2 runs native at 720p. they get upscaled to fit your tv.
you can hook a pc up to the tv. hdmi and component both come on any decent graphics card. my tv even has a vga port. there it can do ...
What's sad is that most console games have become heavily adapted PC games and people don't realize it.
Bungie used to make PC games and helped FPS fully colonize console gaming. Their first FPS was marathon on the PC/Mac. By buying Bungie MS ended the reign of the best Mac gaming company while also buying great talent for their future xbox division.

actually it wouldn't surprise me if someone gets a job offer for hacking something like this. easiest way to deal with people breaking your security is to pay them to fix it.
Are these the same industry veterans who predicted the wii would bomb?
"Of course it's possible - with multiple cores. My 2 year old computer has 4 cores with 11 GHz combined. The article uses the word 'combined' too."
It doesn't work like that. Parallel processing doesn't just scale up the speed linearly and for a certain problems it won't increase speed at all.
Similarly, for other classes of problems (like factoring numbers), parallel processors will rock it while a high ghz single-core wi...
"They’re too complex, too long, and ultimately too boring."
Complex isn't the problem. Convoluted is.
blazblue has a small roster and it demolishes anything you happen to call a fighting game.
Why? You know most modern gaming journalists hate the throwback old school gameplay a lot of wii games have. I don't even check published reviews, amazon has many from people like me =D
