No dynamic slash *sob*
After Michael Jackson's death someone who worked on the music for Sonic 3 confirmed MJ did some of the tracks. For whatever reason he didn't want it on there (he guessed low sound quality and fidelity of the Genesis). Some of the chords in the sonic 3 tracks ended up in Stranger in Moscow I guess.
I've used emulators and still buy vc games. It has less to do with casual gaming than thievery. If they don't sell Mario 3 sure I'll use an emulator. If they do sell Mario 3 then it's unjustified stealing.
Augmented reality? Like they're pasting a 2d picture of you on the polygonal model? Too much viral marketer, too much.
Everything you said about the sony wand was said about the wiimote. Enjoy devs pissing on your hopes.
BTW most people rail on the wii for the game selection, you must be new to any gaming site and have never had the snobby video game clerk insult your wii game purchase. Even with a ps3 game they do it!
Last I heard real gamers don't say you need a ps3/360 and not to buy a wii. Most of us real gamers bought the the wii and a HD system or all 3. News for gamers...but only if the manufacturer isn't nintendo?
Wii has some sick games. So does my xbox and ps3. My gaming pc can play most xbox/ps3 games that aren't downloadable. The xbox and ps3 miss so many quality wii titles there is no replacement.
Does fun require a precision experience?
I play dynasty warriors gundam on ps3 and bikini zombie slayers with the wii. The latter is just as good despite the graphics. Tried wii sports resort? Grand slam tennis? The games are remarkably precise and I doubt anyone would care if they weren't. People play DDR on softpads, once again proving that despite the total cost of precision fun remains.
Like aiming on dual analog or shooting in dynasty warriors gundam is pre...
I mean he's right that's the reason people steal the games. Obviously they don't have a right to do it. But he's correct that they feel they aren't receiving enough value for their money.
I'm in law school hoping to end up in IP law with a CS degree, I am the last person who would be sympathetic to piracy.
"I get that its not really the money, its to scare them and others straight but honestly, it does not work"
If you read about this more you'll see that he actually uploaded the first copy of the game to the internet a week before release. They're not going after users here but targeting the source. You can't stop piracy as a whole but if you can lower the small number of people who leak a game before release that certainly helps.

A big part of sentencing criminal behavior is making it in proportion to the crime and that is off here. If you get that much without making money why not just pirate games for cash? Sell them out of your garage or put ads on a warez or torrent site. If the minimal crime is punished this severely there's no incentive to keep from going all the way to the limits of illegal behavior.
Haha, the sophisticated forensics were explained on another site:
"According to GBATemp the guy who leaked the game was a regular there and probably got caught not through the use of "sophisticated technological forensics" but because he posted pictures of himself with the game and receipt, complete with home details, as a response to people telling him he released a fake dump. Who knows if it's true or not, but either way, this dude is hosed for life. That was a...
To be fair it took my friends and I 27 hours the first time through to complete every NSMB level. That argument works but this game was pirated a week before release and hence it doesn't apply to this game. Generally though you're right.
He actually posted pictures of himself with his name and receipt ;)

This better be Dynamic Slash.
"Comment threads on review pieces and personal relationships with the people developing the games supposed to be under the microscope also kill off any real sense of critical distance."
Remember that time IGN editors appeared in credits for The Conduit? That's like making Maureen Dowd secretary of state.
"From what I've heard and seen, it doesn't have so much to do with page hits as much as it has to do with being hacks who believe enough in their...
How would this even work without an IR sensor? HDTVs can't read traditional light guns so you'd need the guncon or the arc or natal to pull it off.
The game is horrific but I'm not sure it's intentional.
New Blaster Master! I couldn't have imagined better news. 1up says they have a demo too!
I wanna see Final Fight rebirth sometime...
What about the experience of crappy Dead Space rail shooters?
"Yeah, it's actually accurate and is in conjunction with an HD console?"
Why not just admit you've never played a wm+ game made by nintendo or EA? They had to turn down the accuracy on EA Grand Slam Tennis cause the game was too hard otherwise.
n64 isn't "real" mariokart. The SNES had "real" mariokart and the wii version is a return to that style. They literally tried to compete with SNES Mariokart in terms of quality when making the game. That's real mariokart.
