NMH killed as a satire of gaming. It was an incredible deep story because it took the cliches and revealed why the player actually beat the game. It is by far the best story based game in the past several gens and possibly ever on a console, with tough competition from chrono trigger. That game tore down the 4th wall and shat on it.

There are lower priced disc games out there. Bikini zombie slayers? Castle of Shikagimi 3? Spyborgs? Sky Crawlers? These are all deliberate budget titles that started at 30 or less. One price drop and some were 10 or less. I got spyborgs for 5 dollars, bikini zombie slayers for 10, castle of shikagimi 3 for 10, and sky crawlers for 30.

Sega has failed trying to make a 3d successor to sonic for decades with the mass appeal of the originals. Nintendo decides to make 2d Mario and sells 10 million plus, dwarfing the sales of the 3d Mario titles. Sonic was the rival franchise to Mario and sold similarly in 16 bit days. Sega announces 2d sonic shortly thereafter.
Sorry, sometimes I ramble ;) I guess more concisely my point is that I distrust adding more story to almost any video game and this alone scares me. If team ninja is that bad at storytelling it worries me more.

Great game that well deserves a sequel. These sorts of titles are why I love my wii.
De blob sold around 700-800k. It was originally designed by game design students in a class at a european university. By all accounts it is a tremendous success for this sort of title. That's why they have a sequel.
widescreen + wiimote aiming makes it a sick deal. I'd never played any metroid prime and this game has dominated my single player time. I've played about 40 hours and I'm still not through MP2. Then I have hypermode and 100% scans. You don't need nostalga goggles to realize this is a better game than most (if not all) released this gen.

Agreed - this is total crap. The people who want CC controls are the same vocal minority we always hear from. The people who want wm+ controls are the millions who bought WSR and the wii for motion controlled games! Half the reason people liked NMH was that it was the closest to light saber battling on the wii - top wii game compilations specifically referred to it this way.

I think we agree completely. Metroid prime presented a story well by not trying to make a movie without the writers and budget necessary for it to succeed. Data files from space pirates can be mechanically written and technical because that's what space pirates are like and they're field reports. Programmers are very technical people and they can write proficiently but often not creatively (I have a CS/math degree after I left english and they are often very bad at writing entertainingly)....

Haha, this company did kill eternal champions because they thought it hurt the appeal of Virtua Figher in the US. It made shenmue. They hurt about 3 generations of platforms by continually announcing upcoming hardware years before release and preventing everyone from buying the current system and continually adding attachments that by definition couldn't have sold more than the original system. For 30 dollars it's certainly worth it. The textures on the ground aren't the greatest but the wii controls are fun. Wiimote does accelerate, dpad yaws, nunchuck is like the flight stick.
I haven't played that far in but the controls are very nicely done. If you like flight sims but not enough to invest in expensive joysticks it's a good purchase.
I don't know how a journalism major stands it. The faux philosophical writing ends up being obfuscated and abstract enough to lose all meaning. For fun in Assassin's creed 2 I'd revise the journal articles of Altair and you could actually make them powerful if you just cleaned up this aspect of the language.
