Actually I don't at all ;) I like Link to the Past and original zelda. I had fun with OOT but now I can't stand them. They just kept going further and further from link to the past and the original. OOT was the last zelda I beat.
The only interest I have in new zelda is seeing if they return to the combat emphasis in the originals and implement motion plus well with it. I was a math major and I like puzzle games sometimes but zelda is not the style I enjoy anymore.

Just as the SNES failed due to the market saturation with NES. Nintendo statements have all suggested they will provide a reason to upgrade by providing experiences you can't find on wii.

They actually did say that the next console would likely or absolutely (can't remember) have HD. Some morons just assumed that meant wii HD and that's how these rumors started.

Guys, they canned ps3 development cause they didn't have the cash for it. It's not likely.
Why not just buy a wii used? They're 150 dollars and mine came with about 100 in wiiware and channels. Trade some games toward it in a gamestop deal or something. This year has so many awesome wii games you'd be silly not to.
Flip that - the xbox is in order execution core and the wii isn't.

The quantum engine had great specular effects but some of the textures seemed like they ran out of ram. Remember the computers in the infirmary?

Not only does the wii beat xbox in pure spec comparison, the wii is in order execution core and the xbox isn't. Do you know what that means? I really doubt it.
On top of that the wii uses a powerpc and the original xbox a p3 so there's a speed increase beyond direct mhz comparison in favor of the wii. This is the first true AAA third party game on wii. It will be an extremely interesting barometer of sales. If stocked right I imagine it will do well.
MH3 has online fees in japan, they won't be making less money from this and that likely contributed to fewer purchases.
Saying it sold so much more on this system doesn't negate his point that third party wii games sell. Like it would do better there on any other console? Japan is saturated with wiis, has significantly fewer ps3s and basically no xbox owners.
Amazon had a deal where wii speak was bundled with endless ocean 2 for 30 dollars in limited quantities. Great way to pick up wii speak with a game for very little more than the original price. If you have a 10 dollar TvC credit it's an amazingly good deal.
Also, there's nintendo points. How many others got burned and had to buy punchout dlc on ebay?
I like unique games as well and own plenty but Okami is not my style. A game where the first hour has almost no actual playing? The art was cool but I don't care to watch 15 minutes of story before playing a game I bought. Here's a review of the first hour that exactly summarizes what I felt:

Okami never sold well on the ps2. This article is loaded to neglect that. Cute how the implication is left there without proper comparisons to help make sense of it.
Dev costs were too high, it was originally slated for ps3 and they moved it to wii for that reason. I'm sure a good number of people on ps3 would buy this game but not enough to make a profit.

4 player online with wii speak. It comes bundled with the classic controller pro for 60 dollars so it does use traditional controls.
I'm curious to see how well it sells, I never played the originals but this looks awesome. Regardless I'm buying it and will love the game.
Yeah, maybe something where you play sports with realistic movements. I'd like to see more than one of those titles.
