MS is building a store on exclusives (specifically its properties or games it has funded development for).
Quantum Break is going to be exclusive to the Windows Store (with all the problems that currently entails) and you can bet every single game MS has sway over will be the same.
The entire problem is that these games will ONLY be on the Windows Store and that store has issues that affect the usability of the games (devaluing them as products).
No... no, it isn't. That's the entire problem.
It's a problem for PC gamers who don't have an Xbox One since there is no alternative. And it's a problem for MS because PC gamers who do have an Xbox One version have relatively few reasons to use their Windows Store because of all the restrictions.
The issue here is I want to like the PC version, but can't because of these pointless restrictions that limit both the performance and usabil...
For now... There's really no reason they couldn't charge for XBL with their Windows Store games. And when you look at the way they are constructing X1 + Windows Store as one platform it seems inevitable to me that that's the direction things are headed.
That's odd... because a PC is more likely to have the HDD space for high-res video than a console is... And it doesn't sound like that's what they are doing for the X1 version.
There's a lot of restrictions and walled-gardening happening with the Windows Store that makes using MS's service a hard sell.
Whilst some issues (like the one with G-Sync/V-Sync issues) will likely be fixed many of them seem to be the direct result of an actual bu...
Scalebound would be awesome indeed.
It never ceases to amaze my how binary people's understanding of sexual desire is.
Sexual desire isn't a 'you are what you eat' kind of thing because what people consume pornographically is often arousing for deeper psychological (or primitive psychological) reasons rather than because the subject matter is a 1:1 representation of what the consumer wants.
Take BDSM. Most people wouldn't want to be actual participants (being uncomfortable i...
Wait, you can quit even after the player's life reaches 0? Wow... I thought these guys were just pulling the plug when things looked bad in the final inning, but that's even worse.
I was kinda pushing for the death penalty *sigh*. Well, I guess this will make a decent second place.
That was my first thought too. That would be awesome.
Okay Capcom. If you are going to re-release RE4 yet again can you finally, finally, FINALLY add quick-weapon switching/healing on the d-pad? RE4 is a masterpiece, but having to keep opening the inventory screen kills the tension.
All 3 of these games are available in good quality on PC. Good ports that are very playable on moderate hardware (by which I mean moderate back in 2011, which is when the PC I played them on is from).
I know a lot of people shit on RE6... it's a really scrappy game with hints of promise. But to its credit the co-op was pretty decent (the first time I played it was in co-op).
TBH it's not like they have a load of extra content to cover the loss. If you are going to turn up mostly empty handed you should at least come to the party with an arcade mode. Especially when everything needed for that mode is already made (character, stages, AI etc).
16 characters is pretty standard for a first release of a fighting game that's a blank slate (new engine, no resused assets).
Look at Street Fighter 4 (arcade), BlazBlue or King of Fighters 12. They all had roster sizes in the same region.
Any other game you could think to mention would likely fall into one of two categories: they had an arcade release (or several) before the home release or they recycled a lot of assets (particularly animations/models) ...
These games splutter over themselves at times with only a handful of characters in a tiny sparse room. Either they need a new engine or the current one needs a lot of optimisation done to it. This is less of an issue on the PC (though TBF it shouldn't be an issue for any of the platforms these games are on) but even then the issues crop up from time to time.
I also can't help but wonder if being limited to small boxed areas (and whatever other limitations the engine ...
TBH releasing it as a fully priced box release in this state (not only of feature completeness, but feature functionality) was a poor decision IMO.
If they really wanted to get a competitive game out there they should have done it as as discounted digital release pitched specifically at competitive players instead of throwing their marketing all behind it as a retail release aimed at everyone.
At the moment SFV is giving off weird mixed messages about who it...
IMO he fits in really well for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it.
It's on PC too. And PC users are having more even more issues than console users.
What if people are okay with the 50/60/70% of content offered? I was fine with a few modes and characters... but when what little is there doesn't work (or doesn't work very well) I'm gonna be upset.
Keep in mind that the server issues shouldn't affect the offline single-player portion of the game in the first place (yet they do).
If the server times out why am I booted back to the title screen? Doesn't matter how good the server is, that's just a dumb decision.
I'm giving this game some time to get better: a whole year. In the meantime I'm happier with my money back in my wallet.
"They said they are addressing the issues, but that got lost in the spin and bash segments now littering this site."
I've been keeping up with the news, but it should be noted there are three types of issues at play here.
The first are technical oversights like the V-Sync issue. These will almost certainly be fixed (and probably quite soon).
The second are technical issues that might stem from the universal app interface MS is u...
