Waaaayyyyy back in the beginning Sony reps stated that they HOPED to keep HOME free. This of course is all contingent upon having enough advertising revenue to pay for it all WITHOUT being intrusive enough to turn people off. With what setbacks they have had so far that has got to start adding up to some cash. Don't be too surprised if they either start pondering a charge for the service or start micro-transing the crap out of you within HOME.

Sounds more like a 3D version of Dragon's Lair. Get to a section...choose an action...then something happens (good/bad). Sorry, not innovative, but this may be a pseudo hard-core game for the casual gamer...could bring some people in (if they drop the price of their console).

Interesting...because one of my friends just within the last week decided that he is buying a 360 specifically due to L4D and time he had playing it...and I am sure he is not the only one.

99% of the time there are more comments/people in the gamer zone. They performed the same test on Mythbusters with an Ipod and proved it was BS. Had it been some kind of deflection then maybe, but then the bullet would not have been in such good shape. I think it is a case of the victim experiencing the event without having full knowledge of what was happening then making an assumption.
Hardly anyone reads fine print on these things and corporations count on that. Sony could have gone a lot further to either make it apparently clear OR provided some kind of reward mechanism for those they drew inspiration from...give a special trophy or make sure they receive the very first "improved" costume with some kind of creator marking on it. Over all I like it. I think there will be much discussion about allowing the avatars to be turned off or made invisible for non-specific game use. As he stated...some of this is hard to test without other friends on the beta with you. I guess one of the best yet to be used features of this is the supposed fact the MS will now be able to update on the fly...so we will see how that pans out.
The early NXE preview went live yesterday, so I would imagine some of the problems might be related to trying to run both dashboard versions side by side...OR maybe some of it might have something to do with illegal NXE dashboards trying to connect. In any event it is much better to deal with it now with the minimal NXE traffic so that they can fix the issue before EVERYONE starts downloading.

I don't think the demo really shows too much of the monster types. I figure this game will be the most fun with the difficulty tweaked up a bit and 3 friends on live playing with you.
Everyone can agree they would always prefer to try before they buy...especially with the price of games. But...there is an amount of effort involved to make a demo, especially if you want to make sure it is polished/tested enough to NOT have a negative impact. So now the question is would you rather have that sneak peak OR would you rather have them spend those extra hours on polishing the real game so that you have the best product possible at release?
