Not all games “look” current.
People keep hating on this game, but they will come to appreciate it once games like this dont exist anymore.
The downvotes though. These people want this game to be a failure so bad. Its okay, people have been jumping them since fallout 4. People want to strong arm Bethesda into making different games. If you dont like what they make…. Dont play it

Its a game, with a specific focus. You have life filled villages, some other area will suffer. Its the nature of things.
Now we shouldn’t worry. I remember when everyone was using confirmation bias with Starfield as proof it was bad game since the number of players dropped. I hate to say I told you so, but…. people just went to play other stuff. It happens.
Player preference rules all of these things. What are people individually interested in playing? Some like to struggle in souls games. Some like to play just to relax. Some like a good presentation. Player preference rules above any attribute you can list. That may also be the reason why some of these high profile games have made a trend of all releasing on the same day or within the same week, as a test to see what types of games people are more interested in at the time.

What he means by going hollywood, is presentation. Games focused on presentation have been the meta for awhile now, ever since the last of us dropped. Games with exceptional gameplay have been the outlier

I have an idea of who needs to learn, how about gamers learn to not invest in products that do not mesh with them, and then blame developers for failing to entertain them. There is a reason why there are thousands of titles to choose from. Figure it out please.
I have heard people call spiderman 2, spider-Mid 2. I have heard people say Bulgers Gate 3 is woke trash. I will literally only look at reviews to make sure the game is not a broken mess, see them say the game is disappointing trash, then go and buy the game anyway. We cant take the reviews too seriously, unless its a reviewer that consistently shares your taste in games.

Larian has made good crpgs for awhile, and never gathered a great deal of popularity. There was something about BG3 that hooked people in, caught their attention. It wasnt DnD, ecause there are games like Pathfinders Wrath of the righteous that went under the radar. It wasnt crpg, because plenty of crpgs have dropped in the past decade, including ones from larian, and never reached popularity. I propose it was literally what everyone was talking about right around the games release: Sleeping...
They suffered the fate of all things.

Yeah, but thats not the result of laziness, incompetence, or a bad engine. Thats what happens with their type of open world games. Its hard for people to find a point of comparison because no one makes games like Bethesda does.
