I hear Draino tastes like candy.
In all seriousness, that's actually an interesting idea. I wouldn't be surprised if they accomodated avatars representing people with different mobility requirements.
I think one approach would be to allow specialized avatars only within your Home Space, while retaining your normal 'public' face for the meeting areas.
Maybe they'll incorporate the trophy idea into that, allowing you to win a new Home Space avatar.
(I doubt we'll see fully customizable avatars, for security reasons. Imagine going back to someone's space "to listen to some tunes", and he/she turns into a hairy chubber with a powder-blue Speedo and a s...
Are you serious? Did you read the entire article? Do you know anything about thedigitalbits.com?
While I was prepared to be a bit critical of this news item (at first it sounded only like more scaremongering), I read the article and was suitably impressed with their thoroughness. I would suggest you take a step back and try again. There's more fact than opinion in there, which is probably what's upset some of the people below.
These guys aren't just a bunch o...
(<Sigh> Figures.) Don't read it so literally. I wasn't saying you always say owned/etc, it was an illustration of the way your attitude come across.
Your reply just goes to illustrate my point. There's just no middle-ground with you.
I guess my dwindling bubbles just goes to show you how pointless it is to take a rational approach to comments.
Why does everything you comment on have to be an absolute? Black/White, SUXXORS/RULES, PWNED/PWNSJOO?
I don't know how you can honestly judge these games so soon, especially when one is realistic and one is stylistic.
Do you also compare your lunchbox to your friend's shoes and say "YOU SUCK. You cant carry a sangwich in your kicks! PWNED!1!1!!"?
The more the merrier. The looks are different enough, with 2D2V aiming for more realism compared to GTA's more stylized approach. I prefer the latter, but I'm sure I'll be giving both games a good workout.
That, coming from someone named "Monchichi"...
Hasn't it already been identified elsewhere as the BioShock demo?
While GW rocks, it's not exactly the paragon of originality itself. All of these games are of the same pedigree.
Bub for you because you asked so nicely. ;)
I doubt we'll see a price decrease until well into next year. If nothing happens by Xmas this year, I'm sure it'll not be before next holiday season.
And with the 20GB increment being so minor, I would anticipate a replacement SKU instead of running both the 60 and 80GB models.
This was the best Thursday update ever, because I FINALLY GOT *HOME*.
Played with it briefly, but will spend some more time this weekend. Frickin' cool.
Agreed. It worked for the GTA series when they finally came to the Xbox, and it will only serve to expand the popularity of good-to-great games. It's healthy for the industry.
It'd like to see more timed-exclusives on all consoles rather than third-party exclusives. Let's keep the exclusives to the first- and second-parties.
Oh I think Sony's aware of what they're doing as far as pricing goes. As much as MS is aware of hardware failure rates, and Nintendo is aware of the mighty power of their DeathChuck. :)
Seriously, these companies know exactly what they're doing -- whether or not it pays off in the short term or long term is really the question. (In some cases it's already been answered.)
That would be a devastating time to do it. I'm sure there'll be something like a $50 price drop for the Premium, for starters, and maybe a cancellation of the core.
The Elite would be great as their top-end model, but last I heard MS was only selling them as a limited edition. If that was only an initial attempt to gauge the market, they'll probably flip the pricing around, making the Premium the new core, and the Elite the new "Premium" so to speak.
...
Np, bud, cheers.
I wonder what the wackiest, most over-the-top promo is going to be for the launch?
I'll bet the launch budget will be about half of the game development cost.
One thing to keep in mind is that the more units they sell, the larger the install base. The larger the install base, the more attention garnered from game developers.
It's not all doom & gloom.
This launch is going to be the biggest thing since Gears. Everyone knows MS is going to pull out all the stops on this one. In fact, they'll create new stops and pull THOSE out too. ;)
I wonder if they'll hire Troy Hurtubise to do a press tour in his Halo-like defensive armour. ;)
I said the article had more facts in it than opinion, I didn't say it was the freakin' gospel.
Geezus, media literacy and reading comprehension truly suffer when you throw a keyboard and monitor into the fray.
