Great news for me. Anchor Bay was one of the only studios I really cared about in particular. That and Universal. Then my horror collection can start building *again*. (argh)

It's close, but doesn't match the cinematic trailer/cut-scenes. That's not a bad thing, because these look fantastic.

As long as a game has decent graphics, no one should be griping about high-quality cut scenes or cinematics. Use what you can to the fullest advantage, I say.

I've always loved the Armored Core videos, regardless of the in-game graphics.

LMMFAO. Bub for you.

I think the temptation of addressing the parallels of console-religion and religion in general may be far too strong for some.

I'm done. ;)

Thank you. It's sad when Sanity and Reason stand out as uncommon.

Maybe God has a PS3.

Not for steering. Maybe a flick of the controller here and there to ram the other competitors, but I've always preferred the d-pad for the WO games. (Same with steering in the GTA series, before the idiots messed with the controls.)

So you know what I mean, eh? Fack, that really bugs me. It's gotten so bad that--I swear--10% of your average half-hour program actually has any content outside of the hosts' preamble and pre-commercial-break "Stay Tuned" crap.

The beauty of internet-finger-on-the-pulse-r ate journalism is that you get news as it happens. Unforutnately you also get knee-jerk responses on the fly, live misinterpretations, and before-you-know-it retrospectives.

There i...

Has it come down to this? So early in the nextgen cycle an article like this comes across as a desperate grasp for attention.

It's like one of those half-hour showbiz/tabloid TV shows that consist primarily of "Coming Up Next!" snippets of non-information. It's not even a full page of text.

"This Just In: Next-Next Gen Gaming Will Be More Advanced!"

Maybe they should start paying their interns.

Looking incredible. As impressive at this point in the generation as some of the Ace Combats were in the previous.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this on both platforms, if it indeed turns out to be the timed-exclusive people are saying it is. While I expect no less, even if it's 360-only I know that millions of people are going to be happy.

This series never fails to impress.

I'm surprised someone found anything in the original poster's comment worth defending.

Oh well. Here: In point form, for easy digestion:

- The style was mocking that of the OP.

- Regardless, a degree in English and fiction writing helps me figure out when I can or can't get away with bending the rules. There are always stylistic exceptions.

- "Arkham" is taken from H.P. Lovecraft's weird fiction (1930s). I've been using...

Actually the quote was that "'The' episodic content is 360-only." I didn't see anything about other "downloadable content" not coming to the PS3.

Keywords being "'A' Metal Gear Solid" game. This is nothing that contradicts anything that has been said before. If you think it does, then either you simply have problems interpreting marketspeak or you're a moron.

Previously all of the statements from Konami et al have been along the paraphrased lines of "There are no plans for 'MGS4' (quote) on a non-PS3 platform." That has never ruled out "There might be an MGS4.1-slash-SUBTITLE on the 360."...

Final devkits were delivered in late 2006. Call of Duty, for example, was a premature port developed on an early kit and rushed for release.

While it's not a universal excuse, the lack of widespread access to final devkits severely affected games released between launch and early 2007.

The architectures are so different that we can't yet make an accurate comparison of what these machines can do. The better PS3 titles like MotorStorm and Resistance made scant us...

Universal is the most pivotal studio for me. Sure, I have a PS3, but they own a helluva lot of the classic horror/SF movie releases that I want (No: NEED.)

So, while part of me would like to see the "format war" continue naturally for a little while longer, the other part of me is just a bit more excited.

While my 1080p monitor/set has yet to grace my home, I did shed a hint of a tear when I first saw Forbidden Planet on HD-DVD and not Blu-Ray.

So, you're saying that only those PS3s sold to customers contain XDR memory units, right?

The PS3s are shipped without them, and then through some miraculous voodoo the Cell processors create XDR chips at the sales counter?

Behold the parthenogenic power of the mighty Cell!
