I nearly stopped when I ran into that common road-sign of the dull-brained commentator, "sipping the koolaid".
Does this guy think the studios are going to go through another format war so soon? Doubtful.
Granted, in terms of gaming and computing media, I think most people would agree that digital distribution is the future: but it's the capital-F Future, which means it's several years off. There's no way the existing broadband infrastructure can provide...
Can't wait! Firing up some Pain right now...
Just for reference, the only scanner that I found that caught, killed, and cleaned the trojan installed by Agent-X's site advertiser is: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
I won't provide a link here, but you can google it. Safer that way. ;)
Flogged and investigated, as Agent-X lists the article's site as his own. The same site that's installing spyware on our computers. I hope he at least looks into his advertisers.
This @#$%ing POS site screwed up my system -- and I have a fairly secure system. I'm still trying to clean it up. Oddly enough my last post here wasn't saved, so Whatever It Is has really messed things up.
Admins should remove this article or change the link. No idea how the site (ads?) installed, but it's not a good link for public consumption.
I hope that wasn't on purpose, Agent X.
Here we go again. Where were the reports on this?
It's "Is Sony", not "Are Sony".
"Eurethra!!!!! Now, we get it!!"
(Wrong word, or were you just suggesting that devs were being "pissy"? ;)
Then, you're in luck because the graphics don't like you.
I stopped reading when the blogger demonstrated his ignorance with his comments on the Blu-ray drive vs. DVD drive speeds. He doesn't know anything about CAV vs CLV.
The blog post just recycles forum-fanboy half-truths. He may have a point or two, but whatever points he makes are pretty dull.
This isn't a great version of the video, but it's viewable:

Can't remember where I first saw the downloadable HD version though.
Oh, PoG...
I guess you never saw this video from a couple years ago, eh?

There have been murmurs of an Eye-enhanced XMB project for a long time.
"Please note that all of your data will be erased, including your games and saves data."
That's not a "fix", that's a reformat.
Oh FFS, it's not a 'service'. It's a downloadable/interactive magazine. The writer's adherence to the term "service" a convenient way for him to criticize the PSN by way of unreasonably comparing Qore to XBL.
Sony only suggested it would be out over the "summer", which technically ends later in September. No need to get your panties in a knot, people...
Not much of a prediction, since Sony has said (albeit quietly) since day one that they would offer some pay-for-use services for both PSN and Home in the future.
Regardless, it's naive for anyone to think that *everything* will be free. I'm just glad the core features are not restricted to subscription models.
If playing soundtracks is a basic, transparent XMB function via the PS button, I wonder if this will also be applicable to PS2/PS1 games.
Can't wait to find out.
Bub to you for using one of my favourite pictures of the Doc. ;)
He's both eccentric and a caustic self-marketer. Not a bad combination at all.
I'm hoping Sony will expand the media space to us North American testers in time to use E3 as a real stress-test.
"XBR" is the higher-end model branding on Sony LCDs.
