If taking out the blu-ray player is a dumb idea to you, why waste time making an argument for it's exclusion upon release, in the first place?

My argument for having the blu-ray at release is no more multi-disc games like the PS1/PS2 and superior audio/video experiences for movies.

Your argument against, is moot considering blu-ray won. I wouldn't count Sony out on the next format either, seeing as they were an integral part of cd's, dvd's...

@TorDavis

They could also just put software emulation for PS2 games on the PS3, like 360 emulation of xbox1 games.

I'm okay with Sony sticking with Blu-ray in the PS3, it'd really suck to have games like FFXIII or Rage as a multi-disc game. I mean stripping it to the harddrive via NXE will help, except for those with the arcade or 20gb harddrives.

At the very least, people with PS3's can switch out harddrives for larger capacity ones. I'm expecti...

Being brought to court for a billion dollar lawsuit by 360 fan's before putting a 3 year warranty in place isn't exactly fast, nor the fact that it still exists with the Jasper chipset. If I'm not mistaken, the next chipset to follow is the Valhalla chipset, I'm sure MS will have that pesky RROD issue done with by then....

You better hope DLC isn't all we have to expect from 360, or those poor people with the arcade model aren't going to be able to bring up attach ratios.

Seeing as MS has never released actual sales numbers like Sony, while only releasing units shipped, I find it hard to believe 360 is actually ahead 10 million units. Considering all the multi-purchases due to RROD, how much has MS really sold?

As for games, I'm not going to say 360 doesn't have unannounced titles for years end, but the same can be said of the PS3. As of now though, most would agree that in the current position, Sony has the better lineup. MS better bring som...

I would say one year after 360 stops production is when PS3 will overtake 360. Seeing as PS3 sells averages over 10 million a year, while 360 does over 8-9 million a year on average, you do the numbers.

I think old school "word of mouth" will sell a lot of killzone 2, than I expect Sony to come in with more late advertising that will extend the sales number. My brother and I already got our copies pre-ordered and we're set to play.

Capcom could just produce Lost Planets 2 with PS3 as the lead to eliminate the porting issue. This could be the case now, seeing as the platforms it's releasing on are not known at this time.

@thenickel

Capcom also knows selling multi-platform titles would sell more. Have you not seen SF4 numbers in favor of PS3? Seeing as Lost planet 1 went to the PS3, why would Capcom consider having a 360 exclusive for part 2?

@Dv8thwonder

If selling 50 million psp's, while becoming the most viable portable competition to Nintendo is failure, I'm pretty certain that Sony can live with that.

@pumpkinpunker

The problem with what your saying is that 360 doesn't exactly have a huge audience geared torwards rpg's. Asia is where over half of most rpg's are sold and honestly, people buying PS3's there aren't buying it for shooters.

Well, if SO4 was on PS3, you'd have no problem as it's region free for it's games. Don't really know about 360.

Thanks for telling me, I actually didn't know they fixed up the glitches in TR. I have to heartly agree with you, fixing the TR playing style would help a lot. I really hope to see some new things in uncharted 2 as well.

Hmmm...let me think about it for a second....

---> Umm...No, dlc won't do anything for PC, especially if it cost money (-_-);;.

This article fails to see that home is something Sony is obviously setting us up for on the PS4. Home on the PS3 will help iron out the roadmap for the PS4, the same way xbox live paved way for the service on the 360. At the very least, home is free and it gives creative companies; 3rd party and others, the chance to do something unique for their titles. Why not wait until these companies put something out before being overly critical of home.

I have to agree with you Colbert, MS should get rid of the zunes. The next version of Windows looks like it'll do okay, they should focus on it rather then a dying Zunes division.

The DC was last gen technology being on CD while PS2 was on next gen DVD media. Huge difference in space capacity for gaming. DC was also stupidly easy to hack, and unlike PS1, it didn't have the the PS1 number of games to sell it.

I haven't really played a game yet that lags on my PS3 other than SC4, and the only one that kicks me off ocassionally is R2. Don't really agree with you on the lag issue.

PS3 seems posed to deliver on those so-called "wackass ...

@2.3 King Dong

People are still buying a last gen system called the PS2. If you didn't know, the PS2 outsold the 360 in Japan in 2008 by about 500K. Sony doens't have to be worried about the next MS/Nintendo console yet, since neither is remotely on the imminent horizon.

You don't seem to realize that when Sony releases the PS4, it'll have the PS3 and PSP2 to rely on as additional revenue, just like the PS3 now depends on the PS2 and PSP to equalize the losse...

I've played both, I like both, but I'd pick uncharted over Tomb Raiders. Tomb Raiders felt a bit mechanical in some areas and the obvious glitches I experienced were annoying.

This new DLC is somewhat disconcerting in the sense it was supposed to be in the original game build, until it was removed as 360 exclusive DLC. I hope this doesn't become a habit for developers to take content away and bring it back as DLC.

@Omega4

I hardly consider the 360 sales to be phenomenal, considering it took a price cut to get ahead of the PS3 in 2008. Honestly, if it wasn't for the price cut, the 360 would have continued to trail behind the PS3 which was leading all year until the price drop.

PS3 is selling well for it's high price, and if there's a price cut, 360 price cuts is the only way MS can respond, or are you actually going to tell me the games (most being multi-platform) are g...

- Halo Wars (looks decent)
- The Lost and the Damned (best of the lot even though it's dlc that probaly won't sell as well as expected ---> 360 arcade models,anyone?)
- Star OCean 4 (SO has never been phenomenal for sales nor gameplay, I've got SO1/2/3)
- Ninja Blade (sold less than 10000 units in Japan coming at 19th for the 1st week, haven't heard much out of Japan for this one, it's doubtful it'll be better than Ninja Gaiden)
- Stoked (don...
