@II Necroplasm II
FYI, I'm a Sony and Nintendo fanboy, the 1st game system I bought this gen was a DS lite. Did I really say anything wrong with regards to the "spoonfeeding" comment? All companies have spoonfed us info, did you miss the last E3 where Nintendo announced Animal crossing as a hardcore game? It was a ridiculous "spoonfed" comment that solicited a reasonable response to this article.
Hype is the killer of all thing's great. Wh...
This is a 1st day buy for me, Level-5 has impressed me this gen and they did a great job with DQ8 for the PS2. I'd even consider getting a Wii for DQ10 with Fragile, Sin and Punishment, and Punchout as add-ons.
MS can still buy exclusives until 3rd party studios see a PS3 userbase to large to ignore. MS is focusing on DLC now b/c they're beginning to lose exclusives like Bioshock and Dead Rising, while the norm is now pretty much all 3rd party multi-platform titles. I reckon most exclusives from this point on will be mainly 1st party titles with most 3rd party titles spread across all platforms.
They should just focus on Windows 7, their search engine has sucked since forever.
TOV and SO4 together aren't going to match FF XIII or FF Versus's by themselves. Those 2 title will probably beat the 360's top 5 games in Japan, all rpgs no less. Add the fact that a new Shin Megami Tensei exclusive for the PS3 and you have people who will buy the PS3 for that one title.
The best contender to the above PS3 titles are all Nintendo exclusives; DQ9 (NDS), DQ10 (Wii) and Monster Hunter (Wii). 360 is climbing a steep hill if you ask me, b/c I don't see a lot o...
I'll believe that MS has a graphically better game when I see it, GeOW wasn't better than MGS4 or Uncharted IMO. The irony of it all is that the best looking games on the 360 are games made by 3rd party studio's.
The 360 has one serious setback that they can't rectify easily, and that's disc space. With 1.5 gb used up by software to run them and anti-piracy software, 360 games only have 7gb of space to work with. Even a better engine can't help with that aspect. Assuming t...
@1.2 La Chance
Lost PS3 exclusives like 360's Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms, Dead Rising and Bioshock, right?
@Foxgod
Is that spoonfeed info Sony gives their fans, the same stuff MS feed their fans with regards to RROD, DRE and disc-scratching? The 360 is on the Jasper chipset to be followed by the valhalla chipset,yes?
@thenickel
The 360 fanboys have backed off b/c they see a silver lining on the horizon for the PS3, 360 has less 3rd party exclusives and more DLC. Even if Rare puts out 2 games, how much is that compared to Sony owned studios. I've sa...
That's a whole lot of smack talk for a system that really only has 2 huge selling exclusives in Halo and GeOW. Look at the numbers for any of Sony's 1st party exclusives and you'll see that most are above a million, which is fine enough, considering Sony puts out more titles than MS.
If your going to bring out the whole delaystation comments back, you'd best realize that Sony has put out more 1st party IP's this gen than MS. Sony put out more 1st party games than 360 last yea...
I've got only one issue with the list for the 360, why count XBL games, yet go so sparingly on the PSN games. I don't see fat princess, nor do I see wipeout. The list even misses 360 games like Infinite Undiscovery and Ninja Blade.
I think it would be better to have a separate list for XBL and PSN games. Eliminate all the 360 console exclusives that can be played on the PC and we'd all have a much more accurate list. Fans on any side could clearly see that Nintendo and Sony...
@Belasco
You obviously weren't here when the hordes of 360 fanboys were complaining about 360 ports to PS3, the whole Halo and GeOW fiasco every time it comes out, the 360 exclusives, PS3 games going multi-platform and the delaystation comments. Quite frankly, I've seen fanboys on all sides being stupid/redundant/idiots etc. I don't think it's fair to single out only Sony fanboys.
If that was the case, making games like Infinite Undiscovery and SO4 exclusives on the 360 is a pretty stupid idea then. Guess GeOW and ME should just go multi-platform as well.
@3.3 Why Dis
Did you happen to miss the article where Sam Houser said that dvd was not enough for what RS want to do with GTA5? Unless 360 will allow multiple disc for GTA5, it could be a PS3 exclusive due to the space issue.
360 fanboys might want to check into the attach rate that their using as the new status quo for games like SO4 and Yazuka 3 now, maybe they'll note that the attach rate for GTA4 is better on the PS3 before they mouth off about the numbers...
@SDF
You've been giving this spiel about being a gamer for a while now, just like other 360 fanboys who obviously see that things currently aren't in 360's favor. Starting a comment with "Sony fanboys" isn't exactly being neutral if you ask me.
Your list is full of holes as well, seeing as Splinter cell, crackdown 2, Lost Planets 2 and ME2 aren't confirmed exclusives yet. Would it even matter if all those titles were 360 exclusives? Would all those p...
Ahh...dammit, why must I wait for my brother to ship me my copy of the game! A sad brother I am to not yet be in the killzone, it'll still take 3-5 days after the official release to reach me (;_;).
@Real Gambler
Wow, someone just got owned, and it wasn't you (^_^). If activision by the math, is getting their bread buttered by Sony even with or without ps2/psp; they'd be telling us the same thing companies like ubisoft, EA and Bandai-Namco have been telling us since last year ------> Sony is making them more revenue overall.
With the resurgence in 1st and 3rd party support on the psp, I won't be surprised if Ready at Dawn really is reconsidering making another psp game, only time will tell.
@1.19 Elven6
Enlighten me again, what exactly has Rare put out this gen that can be considered good, even compared to their old classics? 4 games coming from Rare doesn't mean much these days considering they're in the middle of re-structuring, which rarely is a good sign.
The psp doesn't have to beat the DS, it's already sold roughly 50 million units worldwide. If anything, this late round of 3rd party and 1st party games just helps builds enthusiasm and a better support base for the psp2.
If the psp2 could get features such as gps, tv on the go, picture and video editting to be the norm worldwide and not only in Japan, it would go a long way towards it's sales in the next portable gaming round.
The irony of it all is that the 360 is the 1st next gen system to have less space than it's predecessor. You may have good graphics with LP2 and GeOW3, but under the hood the KZ engine is doing what the 360 can't in the finer details; the particle affects, the lighting, smoke effects, better enemy AI etc.
