I stopped buying Call of Duty Games after Modern Warfare 2. But it doesn't surprise me that the Franchise is leaning towards a multiplayer only focus. Why spend all that money on writers, directors, mo-cap studio and voice actors, when most of your audience never play through the campaign anyway?
Moreover, if they cut out the singleplayer campaign they could roll of a Call of Duty Game every 6 months instead of every year. If you want a single player component you hav...
So now every multiplayer shooter is going to have to shoe-horn a Battle Royale mode into it. Talk about lack of innovation and creativity. What happened to Battlefield Bad Company 3? That would have been a great opportunity for DICE to innovate and take the genre forward. It could be in terms of branching story telling, open world setting, even in the level of destructibility in their multiplayer modes etc. But no! instead let us rinse and repeat last years assets and squeeze in the latest B...
Fight of Gods is already out :)) http://www.gospelherald.com...
Even the mighty God of War is not exempt from Day one Patches. I don't know if I can wait for 7GB to download though, I know that I won't be able to resist booting up the game as soon as it drops through my letter box.
With no loading times and no camera cuts, it's going to be incredibly hard to put the game down. Gone are the days when you could say to the wife, "...just let me get to the next save point." Or maybe I'll still say it anyway :))
I'm probably going to cry when I finish this game :)
Nope. If I don't care about exclusives I'll just game on my PC. I don't need an xbox if I don't care about exclusives, it just becomes redundant.
Escort mission are not all bad, it has always depended on how they are implemented. I remember playing Ico on the PS2, and being completely captivated by Yorda and the need to protect her. By today's standards you would say what a terrible escort mission; but actually at the time everything about how Yorda controlled lent itself to a sense of urgency, and actually made her more vulnerable. The effect being that it made you care for her and feel protective of her, especially when she start...
Actually it reminded me of Yoel of Londor from Dark Souls 3 http://darksouls.wikia.com/...
If I understand correctly, I believe Metacritic give a weighted aggregate to some websites and their scores. This was the problem with the Washington Post's review of Uncharted 4. Washington Post had a high aggregate, so when it gave Uncharted 4 a lower score (4/10) it had the effect of reducing the meta score from 94 down to 93. I remember the furore it caused at the time, as it seemed to be a blatant troll review from a freelance writer.
Edit: Thankfully Washington P...
It's great that 8.0 is currently the lowest score God of War has received; call be a pessimist, but I'm still waiting for that troll review that will give it a 5/10 just because of whatever stupid reason the reviewer arbitrarily decides upon. Secretly I'm hoping it breaks the 96 meta score barrier :)
The bar has been set reall high, but here's hoping that Spiderman catches some of the Sony magic and is also a masterpiece. But with Spiderman, I'll be happy with a 90 meta score :))
How many more 10/10 reviews does it need to break through to a 96 meta score?
Well that's a shame, 'cos next week I'll be busy with God of War; but not to worry, hopefully I'll come fetch Kingdom Come from the backlog pile... eventually... hopefully.
God of War is on track to surpass those games. It remains to be sen if it will surpass TLOU.
Sony going in large with God of War, I like it. They're really pushing the advertising budget with this game. I've seen buses all over London with the GOW poster, and the TV ad's are quite frequent. No doubt this game will sell well, and guarantee a sequel. The only thing is, what would they call the sequel, they can't call it God of War 2? Maybe, God of War: Atreus become a Teenager!
Yeah, I'm staying away from spoilers until at least my first playthrough of the game.
I'm guessing their big hitters will be FFVII gameplay, Shemue, Death Stranding, possible Horizon Zero Dawn II, Bloodbourne 2, and whatever happened to that Capcom exclusive that was supposed to be in the works - Deep Down - https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Your sentiment is only true if you have only one exclusive to play, but how many exclusives do PS4 owners have to play. How many hours of combined gameplay do you get from games like Bloodbourne, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Nier Automata, Ni No Kuni, Yakuza etc etc. You see, your argument is a little bit flawed, I don't have time for shallow games like Fifa of BF1, because I've got a backlog of so many exclusives to play already.
Good. I hope more gamers raise a furore and boycott any of their games that implement anti-consumer loot box and microtransaction practices. Jim Sterling made an excellent vid on the issues, and specifically why the argument that games are more expensive to make doesn't hold any water when it comes to big AAA companies and the profits they already make from games. Jim says it better than I do though - https://www.youtu...
