Warhawk gets my vote, where do I sign the petition?
The problem doesn't go away with buying established studios, you have to first have a culture of creative freedom. Too many publishers have destroyed studios because they tried to shoehorn, and dictate a creative direction to meet a perceived market value.
I bet you any money, Microsoft acquires a studio and the first game that studio makes will either be a first person multiplayer shooter, or an open world multiplayer shooter.
This is why Microsoft ...
Exactly. Gamers have been saying this to M$ since last gen, but for whatever reason they can't see common sense. Mind you, it takes decades to cultivate solid first party talent. Even when you buy a ready made studio (e.g. Respawn), it's no guarantee that their games (e.g. Titanfall) will be a console seller.
That's one way to solve a problem, just throw money at it. It would cost hundreds of billions of dollars to acquire EA or Vale for that matter. I'm not sure the console war is worth that much. It's more likely that they would acquire a start-up like PUBG Corp. that makes more sense, and is more likely given the success of PUBG on the Xbox.
It's Star Wars, at the time of a Major Star Wars movie release. Remember that the majority of gamers don't visit gaming forums on a daily basis like we do! lol.
Same with FIFA unfortunately.
I hear your point, but tbh I think it's more to do with a combination of industry factors. First you have BF2 and the lootbox controversy, but then there's also the controversy over Destiny 2 - which is a model I believe Anthem wants to emulate.
I think EA wants to distance themselves from both of these, as well as restructuring some of Anthems' game mechanics that may be cause controversy, i.e. the whole BF2 progression system.
EA...smh! So much spin, so much greed. It just confirms that their customers are Not the gamers, but the investors.
They've learnt nothing.
I saw the Gold Edition on sale, it was really cheap I think I saw in one shop for under 10bucks, but the thing I dread is being overwhelmed with content, and UI, and learning curve, especially if everyone else has reach god level and I'm the lvl 1 newbie that's asking daft questions in chat. lol.
I've been in two minds about ESO, I was going to buy at launch, but then there was the whole meltdown with it being a bugged up mess. Then when Morrowind came out, I was going to get it but, then got cold feet.
Am I too late to the party, or is there still fun to be had in Tamriel?
I'd actually like to see a bit more choice and consequence. I know its a linear story, but I think there should be some choice for the player in who they get to kill. For example, David, Marlene, even the choice to leave Tess. I wanted to stay right there with Tess and take all the fireflies down. And I personally wouldn't have shot Marlene in the head, I'd have left her for dead and looked forward to facing the consequences in the sequel.
I'll probably be getting Kingdom Come Deliverance, and maybe down the line I'll get Shadow of the Colossus (again).
Who cares. It's still the best Action Adventure game in the 2018 line up, and will be a metric-ton of fun.
Downgrade or no downgrade, it's still the best looking game on any console.
Hell yeah!!!
I hope the zombies... erm.. I mean "freakers" are not just a gimmick, and that there's real gameplay behind their implimentation. I can wait for this game though.
Ooh I think you just got pwnd!
But yeah, I think that a May date will be too close to God of War. It wouldn't surprise me if we get a late June date instead.
I'll probably get this game. I just hope its got a good engrossing story.
I'm going to get this game just for the filters.
I'm sure it'll come. Just give it time.
