Absolutely loving Dark souls, the love/hate affair won't be ending soon. *mild spoilers ahead* you think you've hit a dead end, just because you can't defeat Queelaag (for the 11th hundred time), but then a little more exploration, and at the top of the mill there's a passageway out of blightown that leads back to the firelink shrine.
I don't think I have ever been happier to get out of a level in my life. Forget Queelaag, I'm never going back to Bligh...
Yeah, Zipper have got the whole thing backwards. It shold be the other way round. Peeps who already bought the game, should get the download for free; and those who purchasing new copies should have to pay for the dowmnload.
p.s. Zipper why did it take so long to bring back Demolittion in the first place???
hmm, might have to dust off my copy of socom.
err... Dark souls has no 'broken' co-op mode fools. The Summon aspect of the game is just that, you summon a player to help you defeat a boss, or to help defeat an invading phanton. It's not meant to be you and your bro farming souls and playing through the game hand in hand.
From Software are prolly trying to avoid the scenario where two (or more) buddy phantoms go rampaging through peoples game. It's bad enough trying to vanquish the one invader, let alone 2...
A much better implementation would be to have those areas open, but no story or mission elements contained within the 'no memory yet' districts. The way it was implemented was lame. your leaping over rooftops, and suddenly - 'white wall of death'. It broke the imerssion way too much.
Why is Assassins Creed not an open world game? Why the stupid 'white wall' separating all the areas? That was my biggest dissapointment with the series.
...the way it's meant to be played...
Buying BF3, renting MW3.
Loving Dak Souls atmo, will be geting Skyrim for Christmas. That way I hope to have rinsed Dark sould by then. Best of both :)
I was gonna buy it, but then BF3 happened. The on-the-fly jet and copter gameplay by far outstripps any thing Ace comabt has to offer imho.
The brilliance of the level design is that(after about 1000 deaths) you think you've reached a dead end area, only to discover that there is a staircase behind a wall leading underground to a whole new unexplored area...
...only to discover assassins who jump on you and cut your thoat in one swipe. Or the goat demon who slices you in half with one hit...
Ermmm.... I hate to break it to you but... it was a BETA and not a DEMO! Huge difference in the two. If as a gaming journalist you do not know the difference between the two, don't quit your day job!
Trailer looks good, and retains the COD4 bombast. But damn are the graphics dated!
Yes, I know BF3 SP is secondary to it's MP, but I'm still looking forward to it. Mt pre-Order is still locked an loaded (no matter what 1UP, or Kotaku think).
Yeah those skelletons have already become the bane of my life.
When you run out of Estus Flask you have to ask yourself... do I relight the bonfire and fight through all of the bastards again, or do I just press on WITHOUT any Estus Flasks.
That there is a game with REAL choice with serious consequences!!
Play Battlefield 3!!!!
Cheers dude, I prolly would neveer have figured that out :)
Nothing wrong with healthy competition. The gamers win allround.
Why show a PS3 screenshot with blatant screen tearing across the middle - next to a 360 screenshot without screen tearing.
Not very subtle bro!
Dude you need to get that pre-order back up. The high-texture pack install, means that he graphics (while still not a awesomely awesome as the PC) will still be awesome.
In any case gameplay always > graphics.
I'm getting BF3 now, and UC3 for Christmas :0)
